After a couple minutes he felt God washing his body gently with a thick, soapy rag.

“Just stand still,” God said soothingly against Day’s cheek, kissing him tenderly before going back to his job.

Once they were both cleaned, God dried them and led Leo by his hand to their bed. Day wished that everyone could see God like this. So strong, muscled, and yet so damn gentle. He pulled back the covers for him and waited for him to climb in before going around to his side. Day watched God from heavy-lidded eyes, check the safety on his gun and place it in the nightstand drawer.

When God got in he pulled Day to him like always, tucking him under him and wrapping protective arms around him. Day didn’t remember God saying anything else, but if he did, Day had fallen asleep before he heard it.

Day didn’t stir or even move again until the sun was beaming in the window on their warm bodies. He and God were in the exact same positions, clinched together, facing each other. God’s arm was under Day’s body, the other palm on his neck. Day’s hands were tucked against God’s chest. Judging by the amount of light in the room, it had to be after seven, maybe almost eight. Day smiled warmly.

“What are you smiling about, sweetheart?” God’s rough morning voice went right to Day’s already hard cock poking his lover in his thigh.

God’s eyes were still closed when he pulled away from him and stretched against the cool sheets before returning to him.

“Good morning, beautiful.” God stroked one finger down his cheek. “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of waking up like this.

“Mmm. Me neither,” Day agreed while palming God’s hard cock. “Want me to take care of this before breakfast?”

God turned over and picked up his cell phone from the nightstand. “No, babe, I’m actually exhausted. Fuck,” God murmured sleepily. “I need another five hours of rest.”

“No can do, lover. You’re supposed to go to your mom’s today,” Day said to him.

God released an annoyed breath. He didn’t want to think about that just yet. To say he was nervous about speaking with his mom again was the understatement of the century.

“No shit, Sherlock. You really think I need reminding of that? What the fuck would I do if I didn’t have you to keep me on schedule, Leo,” God said sarcastically.

Day didn’t say anything else. He rolled out of bed and went into the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Day knew God was stressed about seeing his mom but being an asshole wasn’t going to make it easier. Day did his morning usual and left the bathroom to see God sitting in the chair in the corner of their bedroom with his head buried in his hands. Instead of inadvertently pestering his partner even more, he decided to just walk past him, get dressed quickly, and leave the room.

Day had just finished tying his biking boots and hooking his chain to his belt when God broke their silence.

“Are you gonna act like a bitch for the rest of the day and ignore me, Leonidis? If I wanted to date a sensitive-ass broad, I wouldn’t be here with you,” God said angrily.

Day locked his jaw and counted to ten, silently trying to calm himself. He tried to stay mindful that God was under a lot of stress. There were some things Day was willing to let slide, and other things that would be dealt with aggressively, and calling him a bitch definitely fell under the extremely aggressive category.

Day yanked his keys off his dresser and turned to glare at God before walking out the door. “You ever call me a bitch again, and I’m gonna show you just how much of a man I am.”

Day walked out of the bedroom, down the stairs and straight out the front door. He opened his garage, grabbed his helmet off the shelf, straddled his bike, and revved the engine before he sped out his driveway.

God heard Day’s bike rumbling nosily through their bedroom window. Day was leaving. You gotta be shittin’ me. “I guess that means you’re not coming with me!” God yelled angrily at no one. If you don't want to be called a bitch, then don’t act like one.

God knew what he’d said to Day may have been a little rude, but damn, Day should have a little understanding. This was big for him today and he was past nervous to flat-out nauseous. God blew his frustrated breath out loudly and went about getting ready.

How cute, our first fucking fight as a couple. Yay.

God’s thoughts went to his lover when he came downstairs and noticed there wasn’t even any coffee made. He had no clue how to work that high-tech monstrosity.

God sat at the breakfast bar drinking his juice and reading the Saturday morning paper. His thoughts kept replaying this morning. He’d seen the angry muscle in Day’s jaw ticking after God had said what he had and he’d immediately wanted to take it back, but it didn’t work that way. Day would’ve still been angry. He was kind of pissed that Day left when he was supposed to go with him, but when he thought about it some more, this was probably something he should do on his own anyway. Day would be there for him when he came home—he wanted Day to be there waiting on him with open arms when he got home.
