Wyatt gently pulled Anna into an embrace.
“What is it, Anna? Did they hurt you?” he asked.
“Hurt her! We didn’t hurt her!” Ben exclaimed, and both he and Charlie began arguing.
“Stop it!” Anna exclaimed, instantly causing the men to shut their mouths and look at her and Wyatt.
Anna looked shy and embarrassed as she tilted her head up toward Wyatt and nibbled her bottom lip. Damn, he loved when she did that, even though it usually meant she felt nervous.
“They…they didn’t hurt me, Wyatt,” she whispered, and the silky sound of her voice had his cock throbbing against his fly. He had to maintain his composure. He wouldn’t hurt Anna. He wouldn’t push her to be intimate if she wasn’t ready yet.
“Then what is it, doll? Talk to us so we can help you,” he replied as he placed one hand on her waist while he wiped the tears away from her cheeks with his other hand.
He smiled softly, and she blushed before she looked down toward the floor. Yeah…she wanted them as much as they wanted her, but something stood in the way. Was it the ménage relationship and being with three men? It would kill him inside if she couldn’t handle it and wasn’t interested. Or, perhaps it was the idea of having sex with three men when she was used to one. Bad thought! The idea of her with another man got his blood boiling. He tightened his jaw, and Anna flinched. He hadn’t even seen her staring at him.
“Don’t be angry with me. It wasn’t them or you. It’s me,” she blurted out as the tears began to fall again.
“I’m not angry with you, darling. I want to know how I can take that scared look off your face and make you smile. I love to see you smile,” he stated.
“What did we do, Anna? Whatever scared you, please tell us so we don’t do it again,” Ben added from the side of them.
Wyatt watched as Anna looked toward Ben and Charlie.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just that…I felt…I felt trapped.”
“Trapped!” both Charlie and Ben asked, and Wyatt felt his own gut clench. This wasn’t going to work. Fuck!
Chapter 9
“Please, don’t be angry with me. I was…I was enjoying the kisses and the feel of your hands on me…” Anna blushed.
Wyatt tilted her chin up toward him.
“What then?”
“It’s not fair. It’s just not fair that I can’t get the thoughts out of my head.”
“What thoughts?” Wyatt asked as he glanced toward Ben and Charlie.
“The night the men broke into the apartment. The way they touched me, and what they wanted to do to me—”
“We made you feel that way??
?? Charlie asked in a loud voice. It was obvious he was insulted and upset at her statement.
“No…no, Charlie,” Anna immediately exclaimed, placing a hand on his arm.
Wyatt still held her close, and now Ben moved in behind her again. She felt him place a hand on her shoulder, and the tears filled her eyes.
He pulled away.
Wyatt saw his response to her tears. His brothers were afraid that she was scared of them even though she just said she wasn’t.
“It’s me, not you, guys,” Anna added, straining her neck to look at each of them. They surrounded her again. It was no use. They couldn’t stop getting close to her.
“Explain, Anna, so we can help you,” Wyatt offered.
“I know you wouldn’t hurt me. I want to believe everything you’re telling me. I want to give this relationship a try, really, I do.”
