“Really? Well that is not happening. I mean come on.” Sally began to get riled up when Susanna and Alexa broke out in laughter. Sally realized that they had been teasing her.

She placed her hands on her hips and stared at them.

“You two!” she reprimanded, and t

hen she laughed as she shook her head.

She knew that Steven and Mason were concerned for her safety, but dog guards at the club was a bit much.

“We had to do it, Sally. You’ve been gone for nearly three weeks. We missed teasing,” Alexa exclaimed, and Sally pulled her into her arms and hugged her. Susanna then hugged them both.

“Thank God you’re safe. We’re so glad that you’re back home,” Susanna said, and Sally smiled as she squeezed her sister and her cousin tighter.

Another week had passed and things were finally beginning to get back to normal. Sally was organizing the schedule of performers for open mic night, but her mind was on Mason. He had taken the part-time position in Dallas SWAT helping to train the police dogs as well as provide some sort of special training for some of the SWAT team. She had no idea what he was capable of, but every night, she wound up in their bed and the lovemaking between Mason, her, and Steven was phenomenal. Even now, at nearly ten o’clock at night, she thought about being in their arms and making love to them. They were beginning to talk about the future and their commitment to her. She looked up from her sheet and tried to see if they had arrived yet. Steven had worked all afternoon and evening at the veteran’s hospital with Toby. She smiled as she thought about the dogs. She had grown to love them in such a short period of time. Who would have thought? She took a deep breath as the next performer began to start their number. A large crowd gathered around the room tonight. The open mic night had become quite the sensation. This was the last performer, and then Cowboy Up was going to begin their session for the night. The house band was awesome, and Billy, the lead singer, was feeling a little under the weather. He hoped to pull through, or the crowd would be very disappointed.

“Hey, Sally, can you come back here a minute? I think we may have a problem,” Scott, the guitarist of the band Cowboy Up stated. She had a bad feeling in her gut.

“Where is she?” Steven asked Mason as he joined his brother at the corner bar, closest to the main stage. Some woman had finally finished singing and the band was going to start momentarily. The woman did not have a good voice at all, but she thought she was Patsy Cline. Patsy would be rolling around in her grave during that performance of “Crazy.”

“I haven’t seen her yet, but Carl and Michael said she’s here. I think backstage.”

“Man, Mason, we have to get her to move in with us. I can’t take not being with her all the time. I mean I don’t want to sound so possessive, but fuck, I’m in love with her. I love being inside of her and having her in our bed between us. It’s the only time I feel she’s safe and that I can protect her from feeling anything bad.”

Mason nodded his head. “I feel the exact same fucking way. It’s insane, but I’m like obsessed or something. I don’t even know if this is normal.”

Steven laughed. “We’ve never been in love before. I realize that now. I just don’t want to suffocate her. I think we should sit down and be honest with her about moving in. Maybe having her around all the time and in our home will ease this feeling I have in my gut. I can’t seem to figure out if it’s fear or uncertainty or just that I get jealous thinking about some other guy coming between the three of us.”

Mason chuckled. “I feel it, too. There’s this knot in my stomach when she’s not in my sight. It had eased a little when we got through the first couple of weeks back here in Delite, but now it’s starting up again. I was even thinking that working with SWAT way out in Dallas may have been a mistake. It’s not like we need the money. It’s the job and what I can offer those officers and of course Sally’s encouragement that got me to take the job.” Mason took a deep breath and felt the anxiety.

“We’re screwed, Mason. We have to gain control of these feelings. Sally is with us and she’s not going to get involved with another man or men. She’s committed and we’re committed. We’ll take her home tonight and be with her. That should ease these concerns.”

Sally opened the bathroom door and heard Billy vomiting in the stall. She turned to look at Scott.

“Oh shit.”

“Exactly, Sally. We’re screwed. Billy and I have been trying to figure out who can replace him for tonight,” Scott stated.

Sally closed the door as Susanna walked down the hallway toward them.

“What’s going on?” Susanna asked, and a few of the other band members joined them.

“Billy is sick. He can’t perform tonight. We’ve been trying to get in touch with anyone who can be a lead singer and knows the songs we play.”

“Let me think. Oh God, I don’t even know. I mean what about the last girl that sang for the open mic? Would she know some of the songs?” Susanna asked, and Scott and the band shook their heads and laughed.

“That would kill our reputation,” one of the band members chimed in.

“Then who?” Susanna asked.

Alexa walked in. “What’s going on?” she asked, and they explained.

Alexa looked at Sally. “Sally, you know all the songs plus some others that the guys can play. You can do this.”
