“Nowhere in particular.” She adjusted her position against Monte. BJ knew people. He knew how to read them. He knew when they were lying or hiding something. Susanna was holding back. No one really knew anything about he
r or her friends. They just showed up one day interested in an old warehouse to rebuild and turn into a dance hall and club. He remembered seeing her that day inside the town municipal building. She was a knockout.
“You don’t share much about yourself, do you,” Monte teased, and she lifted her head up.
“I don’t like to talk about myself. Plus, there’s not much to tell,” she countered.
BJ traced along her skin and back toward the scars on her back. “Where’d you get these scars, baby?”
Susanna remained silent.
He caressed over to her waist and pulled her to the side slightly to look into her eyes.
She stared at him a moment and he couldn’t read her.
“Well?” he pushed.
“It’s nothing.” She lowered her eyes. Oh yeah, it was something, all right, and it was something that changed her demeanor and made her tighten up.
“Tell us,” Monte stated, surprising BJ with his tone.
Susanna shook her head. “It’s none of your business. Enough questions.” She began to get up.
Both Monte and BJ stopped her from moving.
“Did someone do that to you?” Monte asked, and BJ felt his gut clench and anger immediately fill his body. He knew he had a scowl on his face as he looked down at Susanna.
She lay on her back now with him on one side half over her and Monte on the other.
She reached up with her hands and placed one against each of their cheeks. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening them.
“You’re both so sweet and caring. I needed this. I needed to know that you would be gentle and caring in intimacy, and it means a lot to me.”
“But?” Monte asked.
“But I can’t give you more right now. I can’t lie here and give you my life story and all its pain. I just can’t do that with you. Please understand.”
“Don’t you trust us?” BJ asked.
She closed her eyes, and he could see the tears in them. She was hurting. Whatever happened to her it was painful to remember and talk about.
“I trust you both, BJ, or I wouldn’t be here in this bed, I wouldn’t have stayed the night, and I certainly wouldn’t be feeling sad about having to leave you both.”
“Then don’t go, baby. Stay with us. You can talk to your cousins tonight,” Monte suggested.
“I can’t. They call on Sundays at all different times. I have to wait for their call. It’s important.”
“Does it have anything to do with the scars?” Monte asked, and she shook her head.
“Please, Monte, I don’t want to talk about it. It’s in the past and being with you and taking care of the girls and Dixie Chix is all that matters.”
BJ leaned down and kissed her breast.
“One day you’ll tell us, right?”
Monte leaned down and kissed her other breast. They both began to feast on her breasts and nipples then made their way lower to her pussy. She tilted her head back, and BJ watched her from below.
“She’ll tell us, Monte. We have a way of getting information when we want it.”
