She felt Monte press against her rear, and she knew he was just as hard and long as his brother.
“We want to take you home with us tonight. We’re going to talk things out, and come to an understanding,” the sheriff stated as he kissed her lower lip then her chin and neck. Monte kissed her shoulder, nibbled on it, then pulled on her ear lobe with his teeth.
“Oh God, this isn’t fair. I can’t think straight when you two do this.”
“Good. Forget thinking straight and just feel, baby.” Monte caressed his hand over her hip to her belly then up against her breast from behind her.
The buzzer on the desk went off, and Susanna jumped from their arms. She straightened out her skirt and walked over to the desk to answer the intercom.
She glanced back at Monte and the sheriff. They looked just as aroused and flustered as she felt.
“Yeah, Ava. What’s that? Are you guys sure?” she asked then gave the men the evil eye.
“I don’t have to go. You’ll call me then?”
She disconnected the call then crossed her arms in front of her chest as she leaned against the desk.
“You two did this. You manipulated my friends and got them to cover for me tonight so I can hang out with you.”
The sheriff grabbed her hand, making her arms come undone as he pulled her against him.
He wrapped her tight in his arm and plastered his other hand against her ass.
He looked at Monte and then they both looked at her.
“We want to spend some quality time with you,” BJ stated.
“Alone,” Monte added, sounding serious before he smiled and winked at her.
“We want you to feel comfortable with us. Regardless of whatever reasons you have for being scared, we want to ease your mind and get to know you. We’ve been really patient, Susanna,” BJ stated firmly.
She thought they sounded sincere, and if she were being honest with herself, she wanted them. She wanted to give this a shot and no one said she needed to tell them her life story either. Maybe at some point, but right now, she was willing to give them this time. But she also wasn’t going to comply so easily. She tried stepping back, but BJ still held her.
“Are you two for real? I mean, you’re not going to team up on me with those hot kisses and make me lose focus and we’ll just hang out?” she asked.
“If all goes well, we won’t be just hanging out, we’ll be making love all night long. Now move it.” He released her to Monte, who took her hand and grabbed her bags. They headed out the door, and she felt completely out of control and about to fall over the edge into one of those ravines she feared so much.
Chapter 9
Susanna drove in Monte’s Ferrari while BJ followed behind them in his personal truck, a very large, F-350 pickup in black with tinted windows. It was decked out in fancy rims, and he looked really good getting into it. Any woman would love to be with one of these men, and she was contemplating being with both of them.
The thought made her head spin and fear grip her insides. She had thought herself more confident and womanly at this point in her life. She had overcome many struggles and saved her own life running from a man who still haunted her dreams.
She thought of him. She didn’t think she would at a moment like this when she was ready to try sex again after such a long time.
She clasped her hands together and tried to stop the shaking.
“Hey, are you okay, baby?” Monte asked her as he covered her knee with his hand. She jumped from the contact. She was so lost in thought.
“I’m sorry. I was just thinking about something.”
“You seemed upset. You know that we would never hurt you, right?” he asked as he removed his hand from her knee so he could shift gears. Moments later they were pulling onto a long driveway, and in the distance she saw the sprawling home that belonged to the two men.
She waited, giving herself the few seconds to breathe and figure out how to postpone intimacy with these two sexually charged men. There had to
be a way to slow this down.
Monte opened her door and reached for her hand to help her out. He smiled at her, and her heart soared with appreciation for the good-looking cowboy. They headed toward the front porch that was done up in dark cedarwood and large enough to hold multiple rocking chairs and a swinging bench. The front door was custom made and double a regular-size door.
