“You want to stop fighting?” she asked.
“I thought about it.” He reached out and gently tugged on a strand of her hair.
“More so recently.” He gave a small smile.
Amelia grabbed his hand and held it against her chest as she stared up into Waylon’s eyes.
“Don’t you dare quit for me, Waylon. This is what you do. This is what has helped you over the years to survive and keep the demons at bay. I won’t be an excuse to quit. I won’t stand in your way of succeeding. I can help you.”
“I’ll need you there with me. I’ll need you to understand that I’m in training and that I want this.”
“You said that the trainers are coming tomorrow?”
He nodded his head.
“Then we better take full advantage of today and tonight to engage in some wild, mind-blowing sex. Because you’re cut off, come Monday night.”
The guys laughed and Waylon was overwhelmed with emotions and love for this woman before him. He lifted her, she straddled his waist, and he kissed her long and thoroughly. When he finally released her lips while cupping her ass, he smiled.
“Sex with you is an inspiration. And if I can’t have this hot, sexy pussy and ass for three weeks, then I’m retiring today.”
Amelia laughed then kissed him softly on the lips.
“Let’s eat, killer, then we’ll go over a game plan. I may be out of work remember? That means I can focus completely on you.”
He set her down and gave her ass a smack before she sat down. When he looked at his brothers, they were all smiling and he nearly lost his breath. Amelia did that to them. Amelia was and forever would be their everything.
Chapter 14
Murphy explained the plan to Amelia—lunch at Casper’s to get together with some of their military friends and then a quiet dinner alone, at their place, where the beds were king-size and they could share more of themselves with her.
Sitting here now, leaning her back against Murphy’s chest and his thighs while he sat on a barstool, made her feel content. She listened to the men joke around a bit and loved seeing them like this. She didn’t want to take credit for it, but his friends whispered to her that she was definitely special and thanked her.
Murphy moved his hand to her shoulder then rubbed his thumb up and down along the base of the back of her neck. She had placed her hair in an updo because it was nearly a hundred degrees outside. She wore a light blue sundress, with scalloped edging along the trim and small sequence beading lining the top of the bodice. It was a bit sexy, but Regan had bought it for her, wanting to cheer her up after the Tucker incident.
Her men didn’t like the idea of her wearing it in public, but she informed them they she would only wear it when they were around.
She smiled to herself, thinking about how many times Ricky tried to remove it before they left her cottage.
She loved the feel of Murphy’s fingers caressing her. He and his brothers always touched her, kept her close to them, and she sought them out every time.
“So, what’s the problem you wanted to discuss with us?” Sandman asked then took a slug of beer as he held Murphy’s gaze.
His brothers Duke and Big Jay were there as well. Their wife, Grace, had stayed home with the baby. She was feeling tired, being pregnant and all, so they were only staying for an hour. She could tell that these men loved their woman. Every time they said Grace’s name, their eyes sparkled.
She wondered if her men would show such love in their eyes, too.
Murphy’s hold firmed slightly at Sandman’s question.
“I think Amelia should tell you about him.” She was shocked. So this was why they came here? They wanted to tell their friends, these men who were all involved with the government and law enforcement, about Mano? Did they really think she couldn’t handle this?
She turned toward Murphy. His hand slid down her neck and back to her waist. He gripped her hip bone.
“Murphy, what are you talking about?”
He held her gaze. She was still impressed with his size and muscles. His firm, determined expressions were impressive, and seeing him now, knowing his stubborn, boss-like ways, he wouldn’t drop this issue.
“I want you to tell them everything you can about Mano. Where he lives, what he does, what he’s gotten in trouble for. I want them to be able to find him and set him straight, so he never bothers you again.”
