As soon as they made it to the top floor of her apartment, Jagger stopped them.

“Wait. What is that?” he asked, moving in front of Tia and Hudson. Hudson pulled Tia back.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

Jagger reached for the doorknob. The lock was broken.

“Shit, someone broke in again.”

“What?” She tried to push forward but Hudson held her firmly.

Jagger pushed the door open, and the moment he did, Hudson wished Tia hadn’t been right there to see. The place was destroyed.

The words “die bitch,” “whore,” and other obscene words were spray-painted on the walls. Antique furniture was destroyed, all her clothing scattered, including lingerie.

“Oh, God. Someone is trying to kill me.”

“What?” Hudson asked.

Jagger grabbed her arm and turned her toward him.

“Has someone been threatening you?”

She was quiet, the tears rolled down her cheeks.

She nodded her head.

“Goddamn it.” Jagger raised his voice.

Hudson was immediately angry with Tia. How come she hadn’t told them? Why didn’t she trust them? Someone could have really been following her home right now. They could have hurt her.

“Oh, God. I can’t believe this. Who would want to kill me?”

Hudson pulled her against his chest, Jagger locked gazes with his brother.

“Call Jett and Flynn. Have them call Cash and Zane.”

“Call who? No, call the police,” she stated.

“We’re taking care of you. You’re coming home with us, and we’re going to get to the bottom of this. So no more keeping things to yourself. No more handling things on your own. You got it?” Hudson asked her. And he knew he raised his voice. He knew he was getting through to her, as her eyes widened like saucers and she nodded her head.

Jagger was talking quickly on the cell phone, and then he called the police, as well as well as Leo Deluca, Toni’s cousin who was a detective. They were go

ing to need their friends help on this. No one was going to hurt their woman.

Chapter 11

Tia Rose was in the back room at The Phantom nightclub, a place owned by good friends of Hudson and Jagger. She felt so sick to her stomach, and especially the fact that the police and detectives thought her brother Sean might be a suspect. She hadn’t told them that she saw him tonight. She truly didn’t believe that he was responsible. But then, after they left her apartment building, she felt guilty for not telling Hudson and Jagger the truth. Their friends were helping, but she felt so vulnerable. She trusted Hudson and Jagger. But these friends of theirs were very wealthy, too, and she wasn’t sure about them.

“Hey, I brought you this. I figured you might need one.” Jett and Flynn’s manager, Adelina, approached with two snifters of brandy. Tia smiled and nodded a thank-you.

Adelina seemed nice. She was drop-dead gorgeous, too, and both Jett and Flynn always seemed to be looking for her presence. She wondered if they were an item. But then they didn’t touch her or caress her skin, or show any sign of romantic involvement. Something told Tia they liked her, and Adelina liked them. It was just an assumption, but there was definitely something going on.

“I know you’re probably pretty scared right now. But you have the best guys on your side.”

“I don’t know any of you. I don’t know who would want to hurt me either. I feel bad, getting everyone involved in my problems.”

Adelina smiled.
