“In our bed,” Jagger said.

“Come home with us tonight. Let’s spend the weekend talking and working things out.”

“Making love and us learning every inch of this luscious body.”

She chuckled. “You’re crazy.”

“About you,” Jagger said and kissed the corner of her mouth. She lowered her eyes. Hudson place

d his fingers under her chin so that she would look up at him.

“Crazy about you. Take this chance. Again. Be with us. Let’s see where it leads.”

She was silent, and his gut clenched with worry that she would say no, and leave them again. He didn’t want that. He couldn’t handle that.

“Okay,” she whispered.

He smiled as Jagger raised his hand and called out, “Check.” Tia Rose giggled, and the sound grabbed a hold of his heart and latched on forever.

* * * *

Who was she with now? Was she some kind of whore? I thought tonight would be the perfect night, but it seems I can cause you more pain, Tia, if I wait to strike. I’ve enjoyed this time. Waiting, planning. I’ve been quiet for the most part, and especially when it came to you. I don’t want to wait. I want to cause you pain. I want to hear you beg for help, plead to the darkness of the night. You deserve to be alone. Alone and dead. I’m ready to send you there. Oh, am I so ready to send you to your grave, bitch.

I’ll get you soon. When you’re all alone, in that shitty little apartment you call a home, maybe even while you’re sleeping in that dinky twin-sized bed made for a child, not a fat, ugly woman like you. I can’t wait to see your face. To know that it’s me who takes your last breath away. Soon. I need this. I want this. I will kill you.

Chapter 9

Tia Rose was literally shaking as they entered the penthouse suite. From the time Hudson pulled the Audi up front for the valet to take the car and the doorman to greet them, she felt out of sorts. It was like she was having an out-of-body experience. The fanfare they received upon entering had her feeling completely out of her league. Women looked Hudson and Jagger over with hungry eyes, and then toward her with daggers.

Even the elevator escort seemed surprised that the men were bringing her up to their home. She felt that bit of lack of self-confidence. Her inadequacies were glowing like a neon sign for all to see.

“Hey, are you okay?” Hudson asked, cupping her chin and tilting it up toward him.

My God, he’s so beautiful and big. He’s perfection and I’m not. They probably bring models and sexy women up here all the time. My God, what am I thinking?

“Tell me what crazy thoughts are running through your head,” Hudson said, giving her chin a light squeeze.

“I’m thinking about how many women you two bring up to your penthouse, as you parade them through the lobby, as all the other women gawk and drool.”

He stared at her and shook his head tsk-tsking a moment. He held her gaze.

“Jameson, please tell Miss Richman how many women my brother and I bring up to our penthouse.” She assumed that he meant the escort.

Jagger spoke up.

“Look her in the eyes. Our woman has some trust issues we need to work out.”

She swallowed hard as Jagger rubbed his hands together. Why did she think his idea of working out her trust issues meant his hand across her backside giving her a spanking? She nearly moaned, her body was so turned on at the thought.

She felt her cheeks blush, and six feet four Hudson remained staring at her, holding her chin firmly.

“Miss Richman, I have operated this elevator for the last twenty years. I know everything that goes on. I can tell you in complete honesty that Mr. and Mr. Ross have never brought a woman up to their penthouse. This is their home. Even I am shocked that you are here with them,” he told her.

She swallowed hard.

As the elevator stopped, the doorman waited as Jagger pressed a code in the panel. Then the doors opened. Tia Rose was pleasantly stunned at the gorgeous, wide entryway, and could already tell that these men had class and style.

“Thank you, Jameson,” Jagger said.
