I pulled her up as we dusted the dirt off our clothes. Saying goodbye one more time, we turned our backs, holding hands as we walked down the path to the entrance.

We drove back to the inn where we were all staying. Walking her to her door, she begged me not to leave; I kissed her lips promising I would be back in five minutes after I gathered my stuff from my room. I left her behind and entered my room where I was surprised to find my suitcase and room completely packed with a note on top.

All your things are packed. I didn’t think you would end up alone tonight. Thank you for everything, now you go and live your happily ever after.

Love, your sister,

Adriana

I smiled at the sentiment, despite her being annoying, I loved her so much. The only person no matter what who knows me better than I sometimes knew myself. Pulling my suitcase, I walked back to her room. I entered softly and heard the sound of the water falling. I didn’t want to interrupt her, I knew it had been a long day for her, but I wanted to hold her. Taking off my clothes, I opened the bathroom door, the room foggy from the steam. I opened the glass door and found her standing there, eyes closed under the water. Careful not to startle her, I climbed in, wrapping my arms around her. She sunk into me and we stood there still. Our naked bodies molded into one, and we fit perfect. She was perfect. She turned around to face me, burying her head into my chest.

“I love you...” she murmured.

“I love you, too,” I responded softly.

Her eyes met mine and never in my life had I been so happy to stare into them. She stared back and within seconds she had a wide grin on her face.

“What’s the big grin for?” I grinned back, it was contagious.

“I hope our baby has your eyes. If it’s a girl, every boy will want her, and if it’s a boy, every girl will want him. I don’t think you realize how powerful they are. How enchanting... like they cast a spell over you.”

“Well, now you’ve just scared the crap out of me because I don’t want our daughter trying to be picked up by every player and I don’t want our son having every hoochie mama hanging off him.”

“Oh, so it’s alright for you but not for him?”

“Are you calling yourself a hoochie mama?” I teased.

“Are you calling yourself a player?”

“Checkmate, Mrs. Edwards.” I let out a laugh, because even in the darkest times there is always that one person who will make you see the light, make you laugh again when you thought it was impossible. She was the one, and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of life hearing her beautiful laugh.

I took her mouth, trying my best to ignore the fact that we were standing here wet and naked. That Charlotte was wet and naked. I mean seriously, I am a guy for Christ sake, but I somewhat felt guilty that I’d been poking her with my cock for the last half an hour.

“We need to get out... you need to eat.”

“So do you,” she said, pulling me back into the shower.

“Oh, trust me I know... I have a big appetite in case you haven’t noticed but for now I seriously need you to eat. It’s not just about you anymore.”

“Yes, I did notice…it almost drilled a hole in me,” she laughed “and yes I am famished.”

We climbed out of the shower and she placed her nightie on as I found my boxers. Room service arrived within minutes and we sat on the bed eating.

“Oh wow, that tasted so good,” she exclaimed.

“Have you had much morning sickness?” I asked, hoping that it was okay to talk more about the baby.

“Not really. Not as much as the first time around,” she said quietly.

“How far along are you?”

“About seven weeks now, I think.”

We finished eating and brushed our teeth before climbing into bed. It was our second official night together after the night in the Hamptons that was a complete bust. Turning the lamp off beside her she snuggled into me, only the pale moonlight filtering throughout the room.

“What happens when we get back to the city?” she asked quietly.
