We both gaze in each other’s eyes longingly, not a word spoken by either one of us. I’m lost within the breathless paradise of his dreamy eyes, desperate to climb into that head of his and read his thoughts.

Does he love me like he loves Morgan?

Dangerous comparisons which I need to let go of. This isn’t a competition anymore. I have him—not her.

“I feel like I’ve been waiting a lifetime,” he whispers, against my ear.

My breathing hastens, the intense rhythm of my heartbeat drumming against my chest as his hand grazes my cheekbone, gliding down until they trace the outline of my lips.

“Me, too, Noah.”

The music stops, prompting the formalities to begin. Taking a deep breath, I glance to my right to where the girls are. Lex is standing behind Charlie, his arms are wrapped around her. Even Haden and Presley look cozy until he leans in to kiss her cheek before making his way to the stage, beginning what is a quick speech.

As for Logan and Emerson, I’m not quite sure why they’re here, but I assume the excuse of a child-free weekend is always a drawcard. Charlie leads a very tight circle when it comes to her friends. She and Emerson are close.

As soon as the speeches are over, the music resumes, and Noah’s quick to pull me away from the dance floor, weaving me in and out of the crowd until we’re forced to walk past Haden and Lex.

Haden smirks. “Going somewhere?”

“Leave the guy alone,” Lex chastises.

“Easy for you to say, you’ve probably gotten laid three times tonight,” Haden complains. “Do you think blue balls can onset an early stroke?”

The boys laugh, Noah patting Haden on the shoulder. The two of them are extremely close friends, the youngest men in the group along with Logan. When it comes to them, it’s bro code all the way. At least, that’s what Noah used to tell me.

“Haden, piece of advice,” I tell him nicely. “Be nice to Presley. You’ll be surprised how much she’ll give it up. Fake it until you make it.”

Noah pulls me away with a curious grin. “Is that so?”

“Maybe…”

We say goodbye as Haden can be heard repeating to Lex, “Fake it till I make it? It can’t be that easy, can it?”

With my hand firmly in Noah’s, we exit the room and stop at the lobby. In front of the elevator, he kisses me deeply before the doors ping open, not giving me a single second to relish in the moment. A few guests stand inside, so Noah moves us to the back.

Leaning in, his breath lingers against my ear, and I know that whatever he says in the next moment will have me undone. “Do you understand what I’m going to do to you in the room?”

I bow my head, keeping my face hidden from the people who stand inside, then shake it, keeping my smile at bay.

“First, I’m going to pin you against the wall, just like the first time I fucked you. Strip you until you’re bare, run my tongue down your neck, along your back, taste your beautiful ass, then eat your pussy.”

I need him right now.

I refuse to wait a minute longer.

The doors ping open, marking our level. The people remaining inside watch us leave without a single word.

“Are you ready?” he questions with a smirk, removing the swipe card from his pocket.

“For you… always.”

Every kiss becomes harder, more aggressive, and de

manding.

He wants to own me—now, here, in this moment—commanding me to listen to his demands, consuming me like no other man has before.

Against the wall, I crumple beneath his touch. Every sordid lick and caress of my heated skin causes me to moan louder. He breathes my name, each syllable dragging against his lips with an animalistic growl that lingers as he lowers himself down my body, kissing the sweet spot between my thighs. My dress is raised and sitting around my hips, exposing between my legs.
