Page 42 of Only Ever Yours

“Hey,” I say shyly to the man on the other end, thankful he can only see us from the chest up, since I’m in Isaac’s shirt and nothing else.

“Nice to meet you,” Noah says with a half-smile. He looks to be around the same age as Isaac, with similar features, only he seems a bit edgier, rougher around the edges. Maybe it’s just because he’s on the computer, but he appears more closed off than Isaac.

“Noah’s in Tennessee looking at some property for me,” Isaac explains. “He’ll be home Monday. We should all go to dinner.”

“After my four-hour flight? Not happening, bro. The only thing I want to do is go home and crash.”

“I could cook,” I offer quickly. Isaac’s done so much for me. It’s the least I can do.

“You cook, baby?” Isaac asks, nestling his face into my neck. My insides twist, wanting him right here, but I refrain, knowing his friend can hear and see everything.

“I love cooking,” I admit. I just haven’t had anyone to cook for in a long time, or the money to buy groceries…

“Noah?” he questions, turning his attention back to his friend. “Will you be up for a home-cooked meal? I’d love for you to meet Camilla in person.”

“Sure,” Noah says slowly, looking at us like we’re aliens from another planet. I wonder if he knows I’m living here. “I should be home before dinner.”

“Perfect. Keep me updated.”

Without saying goodbye, Isaac ends the call.

“That was rude.” I turn around, so I’m straddling his lap.

“What?” He raises a single brow in confusion.

“You just hung up on him.”

“No, I didn’t.”

“You didn’t even say goodbye.”

He laughs. “I told him to keep me updated. Same thing.”

I roll my eyes because… men. “Are you and Noah close?”

“Yeah, he’s like a brother to me. We met when I was in college and hit it off. His mom died shortly before my parents, and he moved here with me to start over… has been helping me run my businesses ever since.”

“Aww.” I palm the sides of his face and kiss the corner of his mouth. “That’s sweet. Like a bromance.”

“What the hell is a bromance?” He takes my hand and kisses the inside of my wrist, causing butterflies to erupt in my belly.

“You know… like a romance between bros… bromance.”

He grunts. “The only romance I want is with you.” He captures my mouth and lifts me onto his desk, his strong hands palming my thighs. When he parts my legs and notices I’m still panty-less, he breaks the kiss, eyeing my bare pussy.

“Are you sore?” he asks, dragging a single finger gently down my center. “I want you, but I don’t want to hurt you.”

Hell yeah, I’m sore, but there’s no way I’m telling him that. I want him just as bad. I spread my legs wider and grin. “I’m good. Now show me how much you want me.”

“This is like having two houses.” I stare in awe around the inside of Isaac’s yacht, once he’s done giving me the tour. It’s fifty feet of pure luxury. The exterior has comfy weatherproof seats both in the sun and in the shade, as well as a spot for people to comfortably lie out. There’s even a table so you can eat in the sun. I had assumed that was it until he took me downstairs, where he showed me a damn apartment. A nice-sized living room with plush leather couches, two bedrooms—one with a king-sized bed and the other with two twins, a full-sized bathroom, and a complete working state of the art kitchen. “Who needs all of this to go on a boat?”

Isaac chuckles. “Anyone who wants to be comfortable. I’ve sailed down the coast in this thing for days. I told you I have a smaller boat for speed. Would you rather go on that one?”

Hmm… comfort or speed? “Does the smaller one have a bed?”

Isaac gleams, knowing exactly where I’m going with this. “Nope.”

“Yacht, it is.”

We head out onto the deck and Isaac goes about what I assume is undocking the boat, so we can take off. Once he’s done, he walks up to the area where the steering wheel is and the boat starts to move. It’s a beautiful day in the low eighties, and the water looks like black and blue glass. He slowly drives us south, through the inlet. I’m not sure where we’re going, but it’s not out to the ocean. With the sun shining down on us and the wind whipping my hair around, I feel like I’m able to take my first real breath of fresh air in months.

“What are you thinking about?” Isaac asks, his eyes meeting mine. I join him where he’s steering the boat and wrap my arms around him from the side. He pulls me in front of him and cages me into his arms, between the wheel and his strong chest, making me feel safer than I’ve felt in a long time.
