“Jesus, I love watching you come undone.” His hips snap forward a few more times before I feel the pulse of his own orgasm deep inside of me.

He kisses me through it, whispering promises of the forever he wants to build with me, but before I’m ready, he rolls to the side, his hand covering his eyes as the other works off the used condom.

Before, I would ignore the reaction and internalize the emotions I’m feeling, but this man told me he loved me.

“Buyer’s remorse already,” I tease.

He huffs a humorless laugh. “Hardly.”

“But there’s something.”

His cheeks are flushed when he turns over to face me. I freeze at the seriousness in his eyes.

“Do you want children?”

“Bringing out the big guns so early?”

He presses his palm to my stomach.

“I haven’t really thought about it much. Maybe one day. Not anytime soon.”

“Ever since the custody celebration party, I’ve had this breeding fantasy.”

My core clenches with his confession.

“Yeah?”

“I picture filling you so full of my cum that I get you pregnant.”

“You want to come inside of me?” I bite the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling like a fool.

“Fill you up,” he clarifies. “God, look, I’m getting hard again just thinking about the sight of my seed dripping out of you.”

I glance down and sure enough, his previously spent cock is close to fully erect.

“You can come inside of me.”

His eyes widen like a teen who just opened a gift containing car keys on his sixteenth birthday.

“Really?”

I nod. “I mean I have an IUD, so you’re not going to get me pregnant, but I’m kind of turned on by the idea of it.”

“I can live with that,” he says, immediately covering my body with his.

He swallows my laughter with a bruising kiss before spending the next hour making his fantasy come true.

The filling me up part, not the getting me pregnant part.

Chapter 39

Legend

Leaving our bed has been impossible the last couple of days since Faith realized how officially official we are.

I shake my head as I lift the cup of coffee to my lips. I thought men were supposed to be the ones who read a situation wrong. Silly woman. Like I even remotely had a chance of not falling in love with her.

I take another sip of coffee when her eyes meet mine from across the room. The woman always turns me on, but she’s holding a sleeping Aria in her arms, reminding me of the hour I spent filling her up this morning.

I came so fucking fast when she whispered the words, “Fuck a baby into me.”

My skin still tingles from the encounter.

“Careful, Legend. The way you’re looking at her is turning me on.”

I growl at Grinch, and all the fucker does is laugh. I know he’d never try to push up on my girl, but the animal side of me wants to make sure he knows I’ll kill him if he tries.

“Kincaid needs us in the conference room. Think you can pull your eyes away from her long enough to get a little work done.”

“Yes,” I snap, but there’s no heat in my tone.

“Really?” he asks as we start walking in the direction we’re needed. “I’ve hardly seen you since you brought her home from the hospital.”

“She’s healing. She needs lots of rest,” I mutter.

“And just how is she going to get any sleep if you keep fucking her day and night?”

I narrow my eyes at him. This man doesn’t do serious relationships, but he should know better than to say such shit about the relationship I have with Faith.

“You standing outside the door listening?” I snap.

“More like sleeping on the couch the last two nights because the moaning from your room is keeping me up.”

My cheeks heat. Have we really been that loud? I can admit I’ve felt like an animal lately where she’s concerned, but hell, I didn’t think I was disrupting others.

“Sorry,” I mutter.

A devious grin spreads across his face. “And I’m sorry for jacking off to the sound of it before leaving my room.”

I swing at him, but he laughs and shoves me into the conference room.

The seriousness on Kincaid’s face draws us both up short. We do a lot of missions, take out a lot of horrible men, but he only looks like that when it’s something personal.

My gut clenches as I take my seat and wait for everyone else to join us. Aro comes in last, closing the conference room door.

“Decades ago,” he begins, “my cousin Kaleb’s woman was abducted. She spent sixteen days locked in a closet by some meth heads who thought she deserved to die.”

Tension fills the room as we try to wait patiently for him to continue.

“Those people were going to kill her that night. They had plans to leave her body in the woods for the wildlife to tear apart. Thankfully, a little girl at the school Misty worked at in Denver reported her being locked in the closet at her home.” Kincaid clears his throat as if the facts of the story still hurt him even all these years later. “That little girl’s parents were killed the day we raided the house. They pulled guns, and we returned fire. She moved to live with her aunt in Tennessee, and the updates that we got over the years were good. She was happy and thriving. Her aunt reached out to my cousin Kaleb even though he’s retired from Denver PD now because she hasn’t seen or heard from her niece in two weeks. Max?”
