Elliot’s family had taken the news of our dating as well as mine did, and it felt like a dream again that this transition from friendship to relationship had gone so smoothly. It made me wish other families, like Dawson’s, could be so supportive as well. But I knew that was not at all how the world worked. So I’d take my blessings where I could. And right now, it was in the form of the guy sitting beside me, who quite obviously hung the stars.
Elliot ended the call, then reached out his hand, and I tangled our fingers together.
“Want me to bring home custard after my shift tonight?”
“Always,” I said with a laugh and lifted his knuckles to kiss them. When Elliot turned his softened gaze on me, I knew this guy would always be my perfect score.
