“It was amazing,” she says softly, her eyes drowsy and she has a small smile playing on her face. I hold her for a few minutes, until she’s asleep. I grab my discarded tee shirt and clean us up and then move her under the covers. She didn’t even make a peep as I manipulated her body. That’s how exhausted she is.

Once I’m in beside her, I set the alarm clock for five o’clock in the morning and then I spoon her, my chest to her back. Nothing is between us, it’s our bodies together, tangled in the sheets.

Candy

I wake to Dylan lazily kissing up and down my throat. I flop on my back and slowly open my eyes. He’s the best thing to wake up to this early in the morning.

“I’m not sure I want to leave your cozy bed,” I say, with a coy smile.

“My bed or me?” Dylan questions, as he nuzzles into my neck, it makes my breath hitch.

“Well maybe more you, but your bed is really comfortable too,” I yelp out, as he nips at my neck.

“It better be me. You’d better get up though. I know you have to open the shop and get things ready for Halloween,” he grouses.

“It’ll be over in the nick of time and we can relax and laze around with Johnny tomorrow as he counts all of his candy,” I say with a chuckle. Knowing Johnny, he’s going to barter his way to have however much candy he can get out of Dylan.

“He’s going to be a monster with all the candy he collects, not to mention a certain baker that sends us home with every sweet treat we can get our hands on,” Dylan gets up and reaches for my hand. We’re both still naked and I stand up, he envelopes me in the warmth of his arms.

When we pull apart, I go to my bag that’s laying haphazardly in the corner of his bedroom. I bend over to pick out my outfit. I’m not dressing up in a costume for Halloween, but I did decide on wearing pumpkin leggings and a shirt that has a jack o’lantern on it.

While I’m bent over, I screech as Dylan swats my ass, “Shower time, honey, or you’ll really be late.”

I guess I was caught up in what I was doing today and didn’t realize the clock was ticking. I put my clothes on the bed and grab my toiletry bag and follow Dylan into the bathroom.

The shower is already going, and I place my stuff on the sink and then get in. Dylan is nowhere in sight and I was hoping he would join me. I get in and shower, making quick work of what needs to get done.

Once I’m done, I get out, dry off, and moisturize. I do my morning routine, putting on a few coats of mascara, some lip gloss, and call it a day.

My towel is still wrapped around my body after I put lotion on. I go into the master bedroom and get dressed for the day. There’s a slight ache in my center but nothing that can wipe the smile off my face.

I get dressed and then take my hair down, fluffing my natural waves. I make a pit stop on the way to the kitchen and peak in on Johnny. He’s still fast asleep, holding his stuffed bear. It tugs at my heart strings and I hate that I don’t get to say good morning to him before I go.

“There you are,” I hear whispered out, as I closed Johnny’s bedroom door carefully.

“I couldn’t help it,” I respond to Dylan. He takes my hand and leads me to the kitchen, but not before I saw him smiling.

Breakfast is ready and waiting. It’s not much but it’s more than I would do for myself. Dylan has a mug of coffee ready for me along with a breakfast sandwich. Before I sit down to eat my meal, I go to him, up on the tip of my toes and kiss the underside of his jaw as I say, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. I know today is going to be long. Do you need help at the shop before the trick or treaters come around?” he asks.

“I think Kelly and I have everything set up, but I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing my two favorite guys before the craziness ensues. From what I’ve heard in the past years, we get people from the surrounding towns, too,” I tell him, as I take my first sip of coffee. I close my eyes in bliss.

“It can, add into that the tourists. I hope you bought enough candy,” Dylan is chuckling at the way I take my first sip of coffee. I look up at him and say, “You make a mean cup of coffee, Mr. Sullivan.”
