I slip the apartment key from my purse before inserting the thin metal into the lock and twisting the handle. I wince when the door creaks and carefully step into the foyer, closing it behind me just as quietly. With my head cocked, I pause and listen for the telltale signs of movement from within, but everything remains silent.
Perfect.
I texted Carson before I left for the airport to see what his plans were for the day. He mentioned going to practice and then heading back home again. So, we made plans to FaceTime later in the afternoon. This trip is a surprise, and I can’t wait to see the look on his face when I walk in. We weren’t supposed to get together for another two weeks, but I was able to talk one of my professors into allowing me to take my exam early.
I peek into the living room but don’t catch sight of him. The apartment is almost three thousand square feet with three bedrooms, a spacious kitchen that’s all black marble, high-end fixtures, and shiny stainless-steel appliances. There’s a massive island with tons of room for prep. When I’m in town, we’ll stop at Wholefoods and pick up groceries before preparing our meals together. I never thought I’d enjoy cooking, but with Carson, it’s been fun. When the weather is nice, we take our plates to the balcony and enjoy the view along with our dinner. I can’t wait until I’m here full time.
I tiptoe past the wood panel study with its fireplace, endless rows of bookshelves, and fancy antique desk before looking inside, but he continues to remain elusive.
With a turn to the left, I head down the hallway, passing by the two generously sized guest bedrooms and a bathroom before arriving at the master suite. As I step over the threshold, the sound of running water hits my ears. Quietly I set my bag on an overstuffed armchair before peeling off my sweatshirt, bra, leggings, and panties. Once I’m naked, I walk into the spacious bathroom. It’s all blue-gray marble tile and ivory cabinetry. Standing inside a clear enclosure that is spacious enough for five people is where I find Carson.
Even though the glass is steamy, I’m able to make out his shape as water cascades down his body. I can’t help but pause and drink in the sight of him. It’s one I could never grow tired of.
Carson has always been muscular, but now that he’s playing in the NFL, he’s bigger, stronger. More well-defined.
It’s only made him hotter.
He has everything going for him. He’s sexy, young, and talented. With his good looks, he’s exploded on a national stage. He’s already got a few endorsement deals under his belt—a Calvin Klein underwear advertising campaign included. Girls have always gone wild for him, but now that he’s been splashed across billboards, women crawl out of the woodwork to throw themselves at his feet. Even when I’m standing right next to him and his arm is draped around my shoulders, it still happens.
If I wasn’t so secure in our relationship, it would bother the hell out of me and probably cause problems. But it doesn’t. At the end of the day, I know whose bed he wants to be in. He could have moved on in college, and he didn’t. It’s not going to happen now just because there are more females vying for his attention than ever before.
Unable to hold off any longer, I pull open the glass door and step inside. With his hand gripping his thick erection, he swings around, and his eyes widen. “Elle?”
I grin. “Were you expecting someone else?”
As the shock fades, an answering smile curves his lips before he reaches out and tugs me against his hard body. “I thought we weren’t going to see each other for two more weeks.”
I rise onto my tiptoes and press a kiss to his mouth. I’ve missed him more than I thought possible. “I was much too frustrated to wait that long.”
My hand slips down his rock-solid body before arriving at his cock. “Seems like you were, too.”
He shrugs, not looking embarrassed in the least to be caught red handed. “Gotta do what I gotta do to make it through, right?”
My fingers tighten around his girth as I slowly slide along the steely length. God but I love the feel of him beneath my fingertips. “As long as what you gotta do involves your own hand, I’m good with it.”
Water rains down on us as he presses a kiss against me. “You know it does. There’s never been anyone but you.” He lifts his head until he’s able to search my eyes. “How could there be when you’re the only girl who has ever filled my dreams?”
