I clamped my mouth shut so I wouldn’t laugh when he came back on the line.
“Have someone text me when they know something.” Then he hung up.
My laughter let loose as I walked back into the room, earning me strange looks from Patch and Dom. “Bear’s got himself twisted up over a woman.”
Dom grinned while Patch rolled his eyes and muttered, “Not drinking the beer at the clubhouse anymore. Has to be somethin’ in it turning all you assholes into pussies.”
As I walked past him, I swung my fist out and clipped his jaw.
“Ouch! Fuck, Dash!”
“Did that hurt?” I asked innocently. “Figured you wouldn’t even feel my pussy fist.”
Dom bent over laughing while Patch just glared at me and moved his jaw around.
I picked up my keys and helmet from a nearby chair and lifted my chin toward Leon. “Make it look like an overdose, so the sheriff doesn’t have to deal with another disappearance. Trust me when I tell you, we don’t want to give him any more reasons to be pissed at us right now.”
“More?” Patch asked.
“Bear?” Dom stated at the same time.
I nodded. “You good? Brynn is probably awake by now, and I don’t want her there without me for too long.”
“Go,” Dom said, waving his hand toward the door.
I thanked them and jogged out to my bike, lifting my hand in thanks to Breaker and Rider. Before taking off, I pulled out my phone and shot a text off to the prospect who was helping me with the house search and told him to schedule appointments for the next day. Then I headed home to my woman.

Brynn
I wasn’t sure what to expect when Dash told me we were going to look at houses today, but it definitely wasn’t the two-story brick home that he’d just pulled up in front of. With its white picket fence and manicured lawn, the house had a strong suburban vibe and had to cost a pretty penny. “This seems really big.”
After removing my helmet and hanging it from the handlebar, he pressed his palm against my belly. “We’re going to need plenty of space, beautiful. I plan to fill all those rooms. It’d suck to get comfortable and then have to move in a couple of years.”
“Good point. Moving isn’t fun.” With as many times as he’d already taken me without a condom, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that I was already pregnant.
He interlaced his fingers with mine and tugged me toward the front door. “This time around, it won’t be so bad since we’ll be mostly starting from scratch. They’ll deliver whatever shit we need to buy, no packing needed.”
That sounded great, except for one minor detail. “I can’t afford much.”
“Don’t worry, beautiful.” He dropped a kiss on the top of my head before reaching for the lockbox. “All you have to do is pick stuff out, and I’ll pay for it. I hate to shop, so you’ll be doing me a major solid.”
I felt better knowing I could take care of the tasks he didn’t like. It was a way for me to contribute to the life we were building together. “Are you sure it’s okay for us to just walk in without having anybody around to show us the house?”
“Yup, my guy told me the place is unoccupied and to let ourselves in,” he assured me as he unlocked the door and nudged me inside.
Spotting the furniture in the living room, I came to a screeching halt and hissed, “I think he was wrong. It looks like someone lives here.”
Dash pulled his phone out of his pocket and tapped on the screen. “Nah, this is the one with the owners who decided to downsize into their vacation home in Florida and left most of the big stuff behind.”
“Phew, okay.” I heaved a sigh of relief. “I was worried someone might come racing downstairs and call the cops on us or something.”
“You don’t have anything to worry about. We’ve got the whole place to ourselves.” He cupped my cheeks with his palms and brushed his lips over mine. “And I’d never let the woman I love get arrested.”
“The woman you love?” I echoed softly, tears of joy filling my eyes.
“Fuck, yeah.” He kissed me again, but longer and deeper. “I love you so damn much, beautiful.”
The smile I flashed at him was blinding. “I love you, too.”
“Damn straight, you do.” Taking hold of my hand again, he led me through the house, his smile growing bigger as I oohed and aahed over how beautiful it was.
We saved the master bedroom for last, and I was taking in the view of the enormous backyard when Dash plastered his chest to my back. His breath was hot in my ear as he asked, “What do you think?”
“The house is amazing, and I love how far away the neighbors are.” I tilted my head to the side to give him access to my neck, goose bumps following in the wake of his lips as he kissed his way to my shoulder.
