I love you, I love you, I love you.
Julian felt Fleur wrap her slender arms around him. Felt her inhale the scent of him like everything about him fascinated her...the way everything about her fascinated him. None of his former lovers had ever done something like this before, but instead of feeling himself freeze with discomfort at the discovery of yet another different thing about Fleur—-
He welcomed it this time.
Because now, Julian had finally figured out exactly what he should do to keep her with him for good.
Chapter Fifteen
Fleur had a lot of things planned for Day 6: a leisurely breakfast, sex, during-shower sex, post-shower sex, lunch, sexting while she worked behind the scenes at Bobby's charity gala, work the red carpet with Julian at six, present her little surprise during the auction, then sex, sex, and more sex, with the venue dependent on wherever it was they found themselves.
It was a properly diverse plan as far as she was concerned, but none of it came to fruition when a still-naked Julian suddenly sprang up from the bed and told her he had somewhere to go.
Fleur sat up in a shot, too alarmed to even feign modesty by clutching the sheets to cover her bare breasts.
"Are you having cold feet again?" she blurted out.
Julian laughed. "No, milaya. I promise it's not that. But I do have somewhere important to go, and
I do need to hurry. Also..."
Fleur struggled not to overthink when Julian paused as if calculating (weighing?) something in his mind.
"I might not make it to the red carpet—-"
"You are totally having cold feet again," Fleur cried out.
Julian bent down to give her a deep, hard kiss that left her just the slightest bit panting when he pulled away. "Does that feel like I'm trying to get away from you?"
"I'm not sure," Fleur answered. "Can we give it another try?"
Julian laughed, but he did kiss her again, and when he finally managed to pull away, he could only grimace at the erect state of his cock. "Now look at what you've done..."
Fleur licked her lips. "I can do something about that."
Julian groaned. "Stop tempting me, you little witch." He saw her about to reach for his cock, and he swiftly stepped back. "I really need to go, milaya. But I promise you. There is nothing you need to worry about."
A small part of Fleur wanted to throw a tantrum, but in the end, she managed to consider the situation reasonably. Julian could be a jerk at times, but a liar?
She let out a grumbling sound. "I was really looking forward to walking the red carpet with you, but...whatever."
"I'll make it up to you," Julian promised.
"Don't bother," Fleur said with an airy wave of her hand. "I've already figured out how to make you pay."
"As long as it does not involve other men..."
She gave him an angelic look, and Julian's gaze narrowed warningly down at her.
"Fleur."
She pointed to the door. "Aren't you supposed to be in a hurry?"
Julian swore under his breath and gave her one last warning look. "Never forget you're mine, milaya. You will not like the consequences if you choose to play with fire."
Fleur blew him a kiss. "See you later, my handsome devil." The words were out before she realized what she was saying, and while at first it embarrassed her to have him find out how she thought of him...
Oh my gosh.
Fleur couldn't help laughing at the dark flush that visibly stained Julian's cheekbones. "Are you actually blushing?"
Julian's lip curled, and she laughed.
"You so are! I can't believe it! Why does—-"
But there was no longer any point saying the rest, with Julian having already stalked away, and leaving Fleur grinning as he slammed the bathroom door shut behind him. Who would've thought her oh-so-handsome devil could also be oh-so-adorable?
Her mood went from paranoid to overjoyed in an instant, and although Julian still refused to let her know where he was going, Fleur no longer minded.
A man like her sweet, beautiful Julian would not just blush for anyone, and that meant Operation Yuletide 2.0 was still right on track.
Since sex was sadly no longer in today's schedule, Fleur had Maarten drive her to Paradijs as soon as she had a quick shower and breakfast.
Bobby graciously thanked Fleur for coming in early when she arrived, but before Fleur could even answer, the other woman was already giving her a list of things to do.
Typical slavedriver Bobby, Fleur thought with a sigh, and so off she went before the philanthropist could think of more tasks to dump on her lap.
It was almost five in the afternoon by the time Fleur was done with all her PR work, and half past seven when the ever-helpful Herbert informed her that Julian had finally arrived.
After thanking the younger man, whom she suspected was Julian's secret informant in Paradijs, Fleur headed into the ballroom and found Julian already seated in his assigned table, along with Stephen, Freddie, and Freddie's husband Sergei.
