Dax nods. “Emily told me what happened. I’m sorry. It must have been really hard for both of you.”

“It was,” I agree. “It opened up old wounds. Well, the wounds hadn’t really closed yet, but I think they were getting there, healing. Then this woman comes along with her sad, sad story.”

“Was she asking for forgiveness?”

“She was, but her apology felt meaningless, really.” I sigh. “I don’t want to talk about it anymore.”

“Okay.” Dax strokes my back.

I frown. “Is there anything Emily hasn’t told you?”

He chuckles. “Well, I don’t think she told me what you like in bed, so I guess I’ll have to keep discovering that for myself.”

He plants a kiss on my neck. My pulse quickens.

“You already know what I like,” I tell him.

“Do I?” He starts to lick my ear.

I shiver.

The fact is, I like everything he does. Every touch. Every kiss. Every swipe of his skillful tongue.

Dax kisses my ear. “Sure your father isn’t coming back soon?”

“I don’t think so,” I answer as I run my hands across his chest. “But I think I’d like it if you picked up the pace anyway.”

Dax gives another chuckle against my skin. Then he presses his lips to mine.

I kiss him back as my fingers travel across cotton. Then I grip the hem of his shirt. I’m about to pull it up when Dax pulls away.

“Is something wrong?” I ask him in concern.

He looks down at his shirt. “I haven’t had a shower. That’s all. The one at the motel just a mile from here didn’t look that sanitary.”

I frown. “That motel? Wait. You spent the night here in town?”

Dax nods. “Didn’t I say I was having coffee with Emily at the diner before leaving?”

Right.

I stand up. “Well, I guess I can lend you my shower.”

Dax arches an eyebrow. “Sure?”

“Better yet…” I give him a mischievous grin. “I can join you.”

Dax, too, grins as he gets off the couch. “I guess it was a good idea not going in to work today.”

I give him a puzzled look. “You played hooky?”

“What?” He gives me one in return. “CEOs can’t do that? Or are you saying you want me to go to work?”

I offer him my arm. “Come here.”

Dax takes it and I lead him upstairs. I bring him into the bathroom at the end of the hall.

“Sorry it’s not that big,” I say as I take my glasses off and set them down by the sink.

He closes the door. “It’s big enough for two and definitely better than the one in that cheap motel room.”

I put my hand on his shoulders. “Let me give you a tip. Next time you want to stay in town, try the bed and breakfast in the other direction.”

Dax frowns. “You mean I’m not welcome here?”

“You are.” I slip my hands beneath his jacket and push it off him. “I’m just telling you in case we have another fight while you’re here.”

I hang the jacket on the peg behind the bathroom door.

Dax cups my face. “That ain’t happening.”

He kisses me again. Over and over. First, it’s just our lips colliding. Then our tongues meet. My heart begins to pound.

Dax takes off the rest of his clothes – his midnight blue shirt, his shoes, his pants, which he also hangs behind the bathroom door, his socks and finally his boxers. I take off my sweater and my shirt, my bra, my pants and my underwear.

Even half hard, Dax looks impressive and I can’t help but stare. I can’t help but touch him and wrap my fingers around him. He draws a sharp breath. His cock quivers in my hand. I feel him swell against my palm.

Dax leads me into the shower stall. His hands warm my skin as his mouth sets mine on fire. I feel my breasts go heavy. My nipples grow hard and poke his chest.

Dax turns me around and presses his lips against my neck.

“What’s this? Payback?” I ask, remembering what I did to him last time at his house.

“Just enjoy it,” he whispers in my ear as he cups my breasts.

A shiver goes down my spine.

The tip of Dax’s tongue brushes against the back of my ear as his fingers rub my nipples. He pinches them lightly and tugs. He twists them gently right and left. I tremble.

When Dax reaches between my legs and his fingers brush against my nub, my knees wobble. I lean back against him as I grip his arms. My head falls back on his shoulder.

He plays with my nub and all I can do is close my eyes and surrender to the pleasure. Moans spill from my lips.

Dax grasps my chin and turns my head towards him so that our lips can meet. As our tongues dance, his other hand dips between my legs as well but goes lower than the other.
