“What the hell?” I cough, trying to catch my breath.
Marley laughs. “Oh, do you guys not like hot sauce in your beer?”
Presley’s laughing as she pulls out two bottles of water from her bag and hands them to us. I chug it down in a couple gulps. “Don’t throw me in the ocean again.” She smiles at her small victory and lays back down on her towel.
“Told ya she’ll would kill ya,” Trevor says. I can’t help but laugh at my girlfriend.
Chapter Twenty-Three
Presley
I wasn’t really mad at Levi for tossing me in the ocean, but I wasn’t happy either. Salt water, yuck! That night, Levi was extra nice to me, and I’m sure the whole beach heard my scream of God Levi. Levi joked that he would have to wear a tank top the rest of the time at the beach. I may need to file my nails down a bit.
The next day, all four of us hang out. It’s a great time as we explore the beach and the highlights of the city. I do call Victor for Levi, and he is fine. I even call my parents, just to say hi and let them know that we are okay.
Each day after that, leading to Thursday, is pure bliss. We lay on the beach and relax or go up to our room, just me and Levi. I couldn’t ask for a better week. I am naked in bed with the sun streaming in, when I feel Levi crawl back into bed with me.
“Where did you go?” I whine and cuddle closer to him.
“Had to confirm our plans for this evening.” He kisses the top of my head.
“I figured we could just lay here all day and have sex.” I look up into his blue eyes and hope that he agrees to my plan.
“Smarty, that sounds like fun, but don’t you want to go out?”
“I just want you.” I gently peck his lips as my phone begins to ring. I groan as I roll over and pick it up.
“Happy birthday, Pres.” It’s Zack. I was hoping he wouldn’t call while I’m with Levi.
“Um, thanks.” I know that I have been lying to Levi about seeing Zack around campus, but only because I don’t want them two fighting all the time.
“Everything okay at the beach?”
“Yes, it’s great. How about we get together when I get back to campus?”
“Great. Can’t wait to see you. I’ve missed you a lot.”
“Okay, thanks.” I’m not sure what to think by his last comment as I hang up the phone.
“Who’s that, Smarty?”
“Oh, just a friend from school, wishing me a happy birthday.” I think he is going to say something but then there is a knock at the door. I let out a silent sigh of relief. Levi tells me to go to the bathroom because I am still naked.
I hear Marley’s voice before I hear Trevor’s. I quickly change to a pair of jean shorts, a tank top, and toss my hair into a messy ponytail.
“Happy birthday, Twin.” Trevor wraps me into a hug, and I smile. There is something about having a twin that I don’t think other siblings, or people in general, understand.
“How does it feel to be the oldest person in the room now?” Marley giggles.
“Hey, I’m only older than him by one minute,” I correct her.
“Let’s grab some breakfast,” Levi says.
We all agree and we head down to a small family restaurant down the street. I walk with Levi, hand-in-hand, and I couldn’t be happier. There’s nothing else that I want, but to be with him. We have a great breakfast, and I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much. I’m so glad that Trevor and Levi get along now, and I can tell they have gotten closer these past few weeks.
“So, what are the plans for our last night here?” Marley asks as I groan. I’m not ready to head back yet.
“Well, I have plans tonight for Smarty and me. What about you two?”
