All three are wearing matching Santa hats and my heart swells watching my husband moving through the crowd.
He’s as magnificent as ever. People stare but he’s oblivious. He has no idea the awe he elicits by his sheer size and alpha manner.
“Hi Snow Angel.” My belly flips. I love that he’s kept my nickname all these years.
He kisses me slow and deep as the kids all make disgusted noises around us. He still turns me on as much as ever and his tongue winding in my mouth makes my insides flutter and my panties wet.
Our wedding was right here six years ago. I got the perfect white dress. He let me pick out my ring but vetoed my first couple choices thinking I was unsure what he could afford.
He whispered a budget to the owner of the shop, and pulled out two trays of rings fit for a real princess. We were married the next day, Christmas surrounded by Gran and Paps, my brother and sister-in-law who pouted the whole time, and about a hundred visitors and locals who clapped and cheered us on through the Christmas carols and slow flurries.
Paps and Dodge have become great friends, but we lost Gran last year and that was a blow. We live in the big house now and Paps has his room on the first floor where we have a staff that makes sure he is taken care of in every way when we can’t be there.
Dodge opened up a real garage in town to build out and restore classic cars and he’s become quite the hit. The business is booming but he’s home every night by five o’clock for dinner and time with the family.
I got my business degree and I help him with the shop because accounting and contracts are not where his heart is. I like that we have our life and our work together with rarely a disagreement.
We still have the reindeer, and they are flourishing as well.
Dodge agreed for a different oil company to drill two wells on the far side of the property and both of them turned into good producers. Money isn’t ever an issue but family and community are more important than anything we can buy.
“You about ready?” Dodge asks and honestly, I’m pretty spent. I insisted on coming today even though the baby is due any time.
“I am ready. You want to bring the trailer around?”
No sooner are the words out of my mouth as the first contraction hits and I hand Stacy to Dodge who gives her tiny face a few kisses before I reach over and grab his arm.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” I point to my belly. “Someone is coming.”
“Fuck.” Dodge says then Stacy puts her fingers on his mouth.
“Naughty word Daddy.”
“Sorry princess.”
“It’s okay. We have time. Let’s get the reindeer home, get the bath going. I’ll call Margaret.” I’ve used a mid-wife for all the kids and she’s become family. “Pull the trailer around, I’ll stay here with the kids.”
“You sure?”
“More than sure. Go.” I wave him off and smile as he curses and runs toward the truck and trailer, pulling them over as I play with the kids, watching my monster of a husband do his thing. The deer practically follow his verbal commands and within fifteen minutes they are loaded on the trailer, and we are heading home.
He holds my hand against his mouth like he did that first night he picked me up. Something he does often and my love for him seems to grow by the years.
“I want my special Christmas delivery before Margaret gets here.”
Dodge looks my way, a flicker in his dark eyes. “You sure?”
“Yes. Very.” I lick my lips. “You know it always relaxes me when labor starts. One last…” I bob my eyebrows. “You know what.”
“Merry Christmas my Snow Angel. You’ve given me more than I ever wanted.”
“Right back at you.” I look I the back seat to make sure the kids aren’t listening. “I’ll put some of my cream on your lips, then lick it off.”
He groans as my body tingles.
“Then I’m going to give you a special delivery of your own. Maybe we’ll have our own Christmas baby.”
“Let’s give it a shot.” I rub my belly as the muscles tighten. “Someone is listening.”
“I’m surprised our kids first words aren’t…” He leans toward me lowering his voice. “Fuck me harder.”
I swat his shoulder, the muscles as hard as ever.
“Shhh. Just hurry up. I don’t want to miss my last chance for a good hard…delivery before I’m out of commission for a few weeks.”
“Santa’s primed and ready. You just let me do all the work.” Dodge turns onto the road leading to the house. “I love you my Snow Angel. I loved you from that first day. I’m the luckiest man alive.”
“I love you too. Always have, always will.”
