I felt horrible for leading Carrie on and decided to plan something nice to make it up to her. But first, I’d have to call home and talk to Nate and make sure things were okay. I’d talked to him one minute, and things were going smoothly, but then he’d called later in the day to tell me that our top investors were going to bail over the fact that the environmental codes for the location were not up to standard.
I dialed Nate, fully prepared to have him tell me I had to go home.
“No, you don’t have to leave. I’ll come up there and get you to sign the agreements they drew up. They say that you’ll be one hundred percent responsible if there is any backlash, and that you’ll respect the codes.”
“I’ve already told them that. Did you send the list of updates we plan to make?” I didn’t understand the confusion. “Why would they think that I’m that kind of businessman in the first place?”
“I’ll handle it. I’ll be up later this evening. Don’t let it get you down. Enjoy your day.”
As his voice went quiet and the call ended, I wondered what I could do that would make things better and decided that I’d take Carrie shopping in Paris. She’d said she didn’t have enough clothes and I hated that she’d had to borrow from a friend just to come on the trip.
I hurried to find her and felt horrible that I’d not been giving her the attention I usually gave the others. I searched the castle and wondered where she’d gone off to when I remembered the gallery. I walked across the courtyard and headed that way, only to find her on her way back to the main part of the castle.
“Next time you go, would you please tell me where you are?” I didn’t even know myself anymore. Here I was planning to take her on trips and saying “please.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d be done with business this early.”
The day was still young, and I decided to spring the good news.
“I’m taking you to Paris.”
“Paris? Why?”
“For a shopping spree. I insist.” She had already begun shaking her head.
“You don’t have to.”
I took her hand and pulled her closer. “I want to. I’m stressed out, and I’d like to unwind a bit.” I kissed her cheek. “Besides, you have to do everything I say, and I say we spend the day spending my money. I’ll make arrangements, and we’ll be off.”
“I don’t want to be any trouble. I know you already had to get me an expedited passport so I could leave the country, and now arranging a flight just to buy me a new wardrobe when you’ve already provided those beautiful gowns; I can’t accept all of this.”
“You can and you will, besides, you don’t get to refuse me, Carrie. I already owe you a punishment.”
“I didn’t think you wanted to deliver on that.” She put her head down and wrung her hands together.
“I’ve been horrible, haven’t I? I don’t mean to neglect you, angel. I just have had a lot of business to attend to. You go get dressed. I’ll make those arrangements, and we’ll back in time to greet Nate. He’s coming up to see us later tonight.”
“For work?” She narrowed her eyes.
I caught her meaning immediately and frowned. “Did it say anywhere in the contract that you would be sleeping with anyone but me?” I asked, insulted at her insinuation.
She blushed and looked down. “No. I’m sorry,” she said, sounding sincerely apologetic.
Just the thought of another man putting his hands on her had my fists clenching at my sides. Jesus Christ what was happening to me?
I shook my head, trying to calm myself. “Now go put on a nice, short dress for me. I want easy access to your pussy should the urge strike me.”
A slow smile spread her lips. “Okay.” She took a kiss and hurried off to get ready.
An hour later we were in the sky, and she was surprisingly calm for someone who hadn’t flown but once.
Her hand brushed across my thigh, and I took it in mine.
“Thank you,” she said.
“You’re welcome.” I looked in her eyes and leaned in close to kiss her. We were the only ones on the plane other than the pilot, and I decided that I’d like to give her a taste of her punishment while we still had a little time in the air.
I shifted in my seat undid my belt. “Get on your knees.” I tugged her hand, and she slipped down to her knees and nestled in between my thighs. “Now, take it out.”
