“No, she was forced to,” I state.
“Because of her mother?” Ink asks.
“Her mother’s a junkie cunt,” I snap, rolling my head over my shoulders, the tension stiffening the muscles there. “Ruby didn’t know the job until she was in it. She helped me escape.” She saved me. Risked her fucking life to come for me.
“Why didn’t she call us?” Animal asks, staring at me across the table.
“I think she was worried about causing trouble. I didn’t know who she was until today,” I answer. What’s she feeling now? Relieved she’s back where she’s supposed to be or disappointed…like me?
His eyes cut to Jameson, who bites out, “I’ll deal with her mother and bring her to speak with you so we can find out as much as possible about this Fisher cunt.”
“We need to pull up surveillance from Hellmade to see who switched the documents. I hand-delivered those, so the switch happened at the store.” Rage nods to Ink, who mimics his head jerk.
“Who was working?” Animal frowns.
“Idiot, PB, Lily, and your manager were there, but they were in the office most of the day. I was there keeping an eye on Lily. She wouldn’t have had motive or time to switch anything out,” Jameson says, his face pinched.
“No disrespect, but you didn’t know Ruby has been bailing out her junkie mother her entire life or that she’s known this Fisher guy for years,” I state.
Jumping to his feet, he leans across the table, finger pointed at me like a knife. “Don’t speak of shit you know nothing about. How long have you known her? Five fucking minutes. I suggest you shut your fucking mouth.” I don’t react or bite. We have enemies outside our door, we don’t need them inside too.
“I’ll bring up the surveillance. In the meantime, we don’t let PB or Idiot leave, and we’ll send someone to collect the manager,” Ink says, trying to fill the space with something other than two men wanting to punch each other out.
“Tony, my manager, is loyal and doesn’t hang out in those circles. He’s a professional. I’ll deal with him myself,” Animal tells us. “PB and Idiot both wear our patch. They’re relatively new brothers, but they earned their patches. Some fucker is involved, and we know we have a rat, so we’ve got to be smart here. Everything said in this room doesn’t leave it.”
Head tilts confirm we all understand.
“We call all brothers home. Whoever doesn’t come is either dead or guilty of something.” Rage sets out the plan.
“What do you want to do about these Fallaci brothers?”
“The one I encountered had bodyguards and needed to be ushered away after I tried to snap his neck.” And rubbed my balls on his lips. “He’ll break easily. I say we go after him,” I offer, wanting to gut the little shit myself.
“That must have been the younger brother. He has a flair for torture and prefers an audience but has always been protected by his older brothers. It’s not often he’s had someone fight back.” Copper pulls a laptop from a bag at his feet. Opening it up on the table, he flits his fingers over the keys then turns it toward me. “This him?” he asks, tapping the screen.
The skinny little prick fills the monitor.
“Yes,” I growl, my injuries burning in a phantom sting. I’m going to cut his head off and keep it as a trophy mounted on the front of my bike.
“This is the middle brother you terminated.” Copper points out the picture of the man I killed at the hotel.
“That leaves big bro,” Ink points out the obvious.
“He’s the boss and the worst of the three when it comes to dishing out punishment.” Copper breathes heavily. “We’re not going to want any brother captured by this fucker.”
“So, do we take them out or reason with them?” Halo asks, looking at Copper.
“Someone will have to pay for their brother's demise. Even if you manage to convince them it was Fisher, they’ll require a loud retribution so others know of their power and wrath.” I’ll show those motherfuckers wrath. It will come with hellfire and steel blades.
“So, you’re saying they’ll come for the brotherhood no matter what we do?” Animal wraps his hand back around his knife, tugging it free.
“I’m saying they already have. Six dead, and they won’t stop. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a bigger attack.” Copper blows out a frustrated breath.
“So, we put a call out to the closest chapter for soldiers and take the fight to them,” Rage suggests.
“Taking out this kind of power will have repercussions. We need to find out who’s on their payroll, who they may be in bed with in regards to their political ties. When you take out an organization like this, someone has to take their place.” Copper turns his laptop back around and shuts it.
