I lick my lips, tasting the saltiness of my tears on them. If I close my eyes, I can see him standing at the stove smiling at me. I do that more than I should. I’ve gotten stronger in the last two years, but there’s no denying I’m still broken.

Hearing Reed on the radio is a sign.

I did the right thing.

It doesn’t make it easier, but it makes it better. Reed deserves everything good, not a broken woman who is afraid of her shadow most of the time.
