Kimberly’s gaze grew nervous. “Do you think he’ll be okay with this? We’re not moving too fast?”
Daniel remembered the box in his pocket. The box he should have opened and given to her already.
He slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out the velvet-covered box.
“As he helped me pick out your ring and coached me through how I was supposed to tell you how lost I was without you, I think Ryan will be the first to congratulate us.”
When they turned to the stairs, they spotted their smiling son watching them.
When Ryan gave them a sheepish grin, they enveloped him in a group hug, the first of many such hugs for their family.
