Lilah spoke with her sister and explained everything to her and though she gave me the side eye for a few months after, she backed off. Good thing we found out my flower was pregnant three weeks after that. That changed everyone's viewpoint.

Her mother got into a cancer trial and has shown marked improvement, so much so that she is able to be here today for our union. Once she found out she was pregnant, she finally agreed to a real wedding provided it could be small and soon. So, Here I am, waiting on the love of my life and the son she is carrying in her womb, to walk toward me in holy matrimony.

Finally, the organ sounds, and I know, after her last sister lines up to the side, that it is time for her to come to me. Those in attendance rise and I turn toward the aisle. She has always been beautiful and breathtaking, but right now, in a long princess style dress, a tiny tiara on her head with curls falling around it and her expanding belly in full view, she is ethereal...transcendent.

She and Cord, my driver, have become close since I assigned him to her. She says he reminds her of her father. He graciously agreed to walk her to be today, and I could not be happier. Looking around at all of our friends and family, I feel surrounded by love and that is all I have ever wanted.

My parents attempted to pretend they had reformed when news of her pregnancy spread. Hell, Lilah even partially convinced me to have a conversation with them. Half through the conversation when they learned I was not running for re-election, they lost it. The first thing they did was blame Lilah. I remained calm and tried to explain my plan was always to walk away when I married. I endured their screaming and blaming until they called my future wife trash and then I was done. I haven’t spoken to them since.

My term in office is up in two months and I could not be happier. My COO’s and I have begun the process of changing everything back over into my name so I can resume a normal life after this with my wife and son.

“You look beyond exquisite, my love.” I say to her as we join hands and turn to the minister.

“You don’t look so bad yourself, mister.” The smile on her face could power an entire country on the illumination of her spirit. She glows now, not just from the baby, but because of me and I aim to keep it there every day for the rest of our lives.

Epilogue

LILAH

THREE YEARS LATER

“Blain, where are you, little man?” I must be crazy waddling around this house trying to play hide and seek with my three old son. I hear giggling as I walk through the living room, and I can’t help but smile. This time is always special to me. Blain is our oldest and when I say he is like his father, that is not an exaggeration. He is serious and studious. He notices everything and loves to be in charge. Yes. I have another bossy man on my hands. But I play my part in making sure he stays a child and has fun. Hence what we are doing right now. In addition to him, we have a two year old girl named Lilac and a one year old named Magnolia. I am currently five months pregnant with another boy, much to Blake’s delight. He complained and groaned to no end when we found out Maggie was also a girl. He needs at least three more sons to help him protect these girls. His words, not mine. Me, I don’t care. I will have as many babies as we are blessed with. I love being a mother and a wife.

Things calmed down once he left his position though it didn’t happen overnight. For the first two years everyone was still all in our business, but we were so happy to care. The media, much to my surprise, took our side in the split with his family and they tried backtracking, but you know what, Blake and I are both over it. They attempted to reach out when Blaine was born, but neither of us trusted it and we decided to close that part of our lives.

My sisters have all found their purpose in life, which I am happy about and each story is unique, but you will have to tune in for that when they are ready to share. I am also happy to report that my mom has been in remission for two years and she is living her best life. Her business has been backed and invested into by multiple entities and she never has to work a day for the rest of her life. She also has found a new love interest in Cord, my driver and I couldn’t be happier for her.
