“I’m here,” he whispered hoarsely. “I’m here.”

I groaned, growing dangerously close to climaxing. A tremendous heat filled me from head to toe, seeped into my bones and left me both exhilarated and exhausted. I came hard, shuddering against William as waves of pleasure past through me. My warm, slick walls tightened around him, which did just the trick in getting him to spill over, filling me up to the brim. He moaned my name directly into my hair, eventually stilling in my arms.

We lay there for a moment before bursting into a fit of giggles.

“Well, uh–” I exhaled. “Hello to you, too.”

“Hi,” he chuckled.

“What are you doing here?” we asked at the same time.

We laughed again, not a worry between us. William kissed my cheek and brushed loose strands of my hair away from my face. “I’m on vacation,” he explained.

“What a coincidence, so am I?”

“Are you… Um…”

“What?”

“You’re not here with anybody are you?”

I cocked an eyebrow at him. “If I was, I just did a whole lot of cheating.”

“I can’t tell what your answer is.”

“No. No, I’m not here with anyone.” And then a thought occurred to me, one that made my heart skip a beat. “Are you?”

William shook his head, much to my relief. “No, I’m here alone.”

“Seriously? Are princes even allowed to travel alone?”

“I was going to tell you the truth,” he said hurriedly. “I wanted to tell you, but I couldn’t find you after the wedding.”

I nodded slowly. “I wound up spending the night at a friend’s.”

“I’m sorry I wasn’t with you that night. I felt terrible. I just wanted to apologize, but I–”

I pressed the tips of my fingers to his mouth and offered him a soft smile. “Let’s let bygones be bygones.”

“You’re not angry?”

“No. I’m far from it. I’ve spent the last year thinking about you.”

“As have I.”

“How long are you in Paris for?” I wondered.

“A couple of weeks. You?”

“Same.”

William smiled, brilliant and charming and so gosh-darn heart-warming. “You wouldn’t happen to want to spend that time with me, would you? I’d love to show you around the city.”

I grinned. “I would love to.”

William

It wasn’t polite for a gentleman to scream. I had to do it mentally. The voice inside my head sounded suspiciously like a squealing teenage girl, but I didn’t care. Hannah was here, really here, and I was going to make the most of it. I didn’t know what I did in my previous life to deserve this second chance, but I sure as hell wasn’t going to waste it. I didn’t know what the future had in store, but I didn’t want to spend what limited timed I had with Hannah worrying about something I had no control over. I was going to make every second count.

We painted the town, happily walking everywhere on foot. We took a boat tour despite the chilly weather. We used the whipping breeze as an excuse to cuddle up together as we traveled down the Seine looking at the old bridges of historical significance. We weren’t so much interested in the bridges, though, as we were with each other’s mouths.

Hannah and I visited every museum we passed by, including the Louvre. We wound up spending an entire day gazing at renaissance paintings. Again, we weren’t as interested in the massive portraits or the Mona Lisa as we were holding each other’s hand. I was fairly certain security was just a couple of minutes away before they asked us to leave for excessive public displays of affection. Mona Lisa must have been smiling because she was in love. Why else would she look as keen as Hannah did when she snuck me another kiss before dragging me away?

I took her to the Eiffel Tower. She’d never been before. The way her eyes lit up filled me with a joy I couldn’t possibly put into words. From way up above, we enjoyed the beautiful skyline of Paris. The city was painted in golden orange light as the sun set beyond the horizon, witnessing the City of Love transform into one of dazzling lights. We stayed up on top of the tower for a good couple of hours, mainly losing track of time because we were too busy staring into each other’s eyes. I was fairly certain I heard an American tourist grunt, Ugh, gross, but their comment didn’t bother me.

We wound up finding a cute little restaurant that specialized in seafood. Their entire menu consisted of cooked mussels dressed in savory sauces. We were sitting at an adorable little table for two in the far corner, sharing a bottle of white wine.

“Man, this is delicious,” Hannah hummed contently. “I’m tempted to order seconds.”

“Do it. But don’t fill up too much. I have a long evening planned for us.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Doing what?” I winked at her and she laughed. “Oh.”
