Success was my muse for so long. But, how I defined it has changed. Do I have all the money I could spend in twenty lifetimes? Yes.
Does that make me successful?
No.
I have the love of the woman of my dreams. Children that make me proud and count on me to be their strength, their support, their anchor, and their friend.
It’s been a challenge, but it’s shown me what real success is.
Love. It’s that otherworldly thing that makes waking up and diving into this chaotic, messy life everyday worth it.
And I’ve got it in spades.
Thanks, Great-grandpa Worthington. I’m sorry you never got your happily ending, but I’m grateful for mine.
Rest easy. I’ll make you proud.
