“Baby…” He pushes his chair back from the reception table. Before I can register anything else, he has dropped down on one knee. “Conleigh. I know it’s fast. I know you have plans of seeing the world. I just want to know if you want to chase your dreams with me, as my wife?”
I told Holden how I wanted to travel and see all the great sights the first night we were together, and I can’t believe he remembered.
“Can you make travel arrangements for three?” I ask. This wasn’t how I planned to tell him, but you can’t plan life down to perfect details. The perfection comes from living in the moment.
“Three?” he says more to himself. Then it hits him. He swallows hard. “Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”
I nod as a tear slides down his cheek.
“We’re pregnant!” I shriek and his mouth crashes into mine, kissing me with pure joy.
“Wow, a baby with my baby,” he whispers, sounding all dorky and dopey.
I grin at him as I wait for him to slip the ring on my finger.
“So, is that a yes?” He asks and then I remember I never truly answered him.
“Yes!” I hiss, smacking his shoulder.
“I love you, Holden James.”
“And I love you, Conleigh Meyers soon to be James.”
