“When are you riding out?”

“Soon as Uno gets here. Murphy and Teagan are coming over to go to your appointment. She can drive you and he’ll be following behind.”

“Is that necessary. Things have been quiet.”

Something crosses over his eyes, but he tries to hide it.

“Is something wrong? Did something happen?”

“Nothing to worry that pretty head of yours over.”

A motorcycle roars down the driveway.

“That’s Uno., Give me some sugar.”

I pout and fold my arms over my chest.

“Tell me.”

“Don’t deny me of that mouth, wife ‘o mine.” Grabbing my face, he brings our mouths together and pulls away too quick for my liking. “I’ll call you later.”

“You better. You know I’ll worry if I don’t hear from you.”

“Don’t worry about me. Just take of yourself and my baby.”

“You mean our baby.” I lean up for another kiss before he goes.

“Later.” He squeezes my boob again, and I growl at him.

Shrugging his cut on he goes out the bedroom door, and I fall back on the pillows.

Glancing over at the clock on my nightstand, I know I need to get a move on if I am going to make it to my appointment on time. I pop into the shower but decide to save time by not washing my hair.

Slipping my maternity jeans on I feel big as a house though if my husband were still here, he’d argue that he loves me like this. I don’t know what he finds sexy about me being swelled up like a prize hog, but the man seems to love me pregnant.

My cell phone buzzes with a call from my mother-in-law. Ever since Abel told her that we’re pregnant she calls me every other day to make sure we don’t need anything and to make sure her son is treating me right. She’s supposed to come down after the baby is born and spend a few weeks with us. I send her to voicemail and promise myself I’ll call her after my appointment so I can give her the latest update. Not that there is really anything to report. I’m perfectly healthy and so is my baby.

I know she is overly excited for the baby. Her adopted daughter, Morgan has a kid, but my baby will be her first blood grandkid. Not that blood makes family, but I just get the feeling this baby means a lot to her. It could just be because Abel is the baby of her family. And I am eager to know that my child will have grandparents who actually care and want to be in our lives.

Murphy and Teagan show up to take me to the doctor. She’s nervous to drive my car, but I feel safer in it. More comfortable. Her man, Murphy follows behind us on his bike. You’d think I was famous or royalty with the way the Black Rebel Devils family fusses over me. I know it’s because of Abel ordering them to but it feels nice. I never really had family growing up, but Abel and his bikers make me feel special and like I finally have a family of my own. I have a place in their world. I matter to them.

I’ve never had that until I married Abel.

“Have you been thinking anymore about names?” Teagan turns down the radio.

“Not a freaking one. I want to wait until he or she is born to decide. I just feel like I won’t know until I see my baby’s face.”

“I respect that, but doesn’t it drive you crazy not knowing?”

I shrug. “Not really. I’m excited though. I hope this baby has Abel’s eyes.”

“You two are disgusting.”

“What?” I crack a smile at her.

“You’re so in love, it makes the rest of us look and feel like losers.” She laughs.

“Pfft. Whatever. I see the way Murphy looks at you. He ever gonna make an honest old lady out of you?”
