I stand in the doorway waiting to hear him say more.

Rain notices me and excuses herself.

I am in shock and don’t know what to say to that. I was his and he was mine…what does that even mean?

“You love me?” I ask unsure of my next move. “You don’t even know me Tristian. You say I should remember you but I don’t know what you mean by any of this? All the games, the hot and cold. Explain.”

“I’ll show you,” he says taking me by the hand and leading me upstairs.

We are standing outside of his bedroom door when we are interrupted by a text.

He pulls his phone up, and his face has grown cold as ice.

His dark eyes narrow on me with anger seeping from his menacing appearance. “Explain this shit to me Isa.” He shoves his phone into my hand, showing a picture of Gabe hugging me at the store.

“Were you spying on me?” I ask growing angry myself.

“I told you to cut him out of your life,” Tristian snaps, getting in my face, snatching his phone back. “You know what happens when you don’t obey me.”

“He’s a friend and you are being way out of line right now.” I fold my arms across my chest. “He wanted to know why I was acting so weird. What was I supposed to do, shove him away? He’s part of my sister’s family. I can’t be rude!”

He jerks my hands away from my body and grabs my pussy with possession. “This belongs to me Isa, along with the rest of you. No man should be touching what is mine.”

“I’m not your property Tristian.” My body begs to differ though as I grow wetter with the longer his invasive touch holds me prisoner.

“You belong to me princess, I know it, your body knows it and soon your heart will too,” he promises.

“I belong to no one but myself Tristian,” I lie knowing he owns me, and somehow I get the feeling he always has. “You said you would explain, so get on with it.”

“Not that easy Isa, you will earn the answers you seek.”

I gulp. I wonder if this time it will be pleasure or pain he inflicts on me?

I’m sitting in my room, completely naked just as I was told. Tristian has had me waiting for him for over an hour. Finally, I hear the sound of his boots echoing up the stairs. Even though I am waiting for him I nearly jump out of my skin when he throws my door open, banging it roughly against the wall.

His face seems to have softened now that we have had some time apart. He crosses the room to where I sit by the fireplace. A black velvet box rests in his hands. He sits it on the side table and brushes my hair away from my neck, gathering it in his hands. I sit mindlessly as he braids my hair and secures it with a hair tie.

The last time he did this, I got paddled with my brush. Heat flames in my womb remembering the way it felt when he punished me. I squeeze my thighs together, praying I don’t leave a wet spot on the chair.

“Why are you squirming in your seat Isa?” he asks yanking my head back by the braid.

“My hair was tickling my back,” I lie, not wanting to admit I am anxious for him to touch me.

“Mhmmm,” is all he says in response taking the box from the table.

“Close your eyes,” he instructs. “No peeking.” He really has a hard on for control.

I do as I am told, the anticipation of what is to come is enough to kill a person.

Tristian’s lips brush against my neck. “You always said you wanted to have a necklace like your grandmother’s,” he whispers into my ear.

Something cool and weighted touches my skin around my neck, but quickly begins to warm. Instantly, I reach up to touch a pearl necklace. I know it’s real by the way the pearls feel. My grandma used to wear a pearl necklace, she always said it was the only thing of worth my grandpa had ever given her other than her children of course. Wait...where did that come from? I’ve never recollected anything about my grandma, but I can hear her voice, and see her face in my head so clearly.

Her hair was dark brown, streaked with grey and she wore it in a tight bun. And her pearl necklace, I can see it vividly resting around her neck, she never took it off. So peculiar.

“Do you remember anything Isa?”
