Wrapped in my arms, she looks into my eyes. "You proposed to me before I came, and I told you about my horse dying right before you orgasmed. That was a lot of heavy stuff for the first we ever had sex."

I pull her to me. I kiss her nose, her forehead, her cheeks. "You think it was too much?"

She shakes her head. "Somehow, no. Somehow, it was all just right."

"I agree," I tell her. "But fuck, Princess. I'm so sorry about Chestnut."

"Me too," she says, running her fingers through my hair. "He was the best horse in the whole world. And I was thinking about him on that trail when we were coming back from the picnic, how I missed him and I felt bad for being on another horse, like I was betraying him. I was tense and panicked and that's what spooked Sonny, what made him freak."

"Well, thank God you are the rider you are. You were able to stop him from a full gallop so perfectly. A lot of other riders would've gotten thrown off."

"I don't know if that makes me feel any better,” she says softly. “I lied to you about riding in the first place."

I run my fingers over her pink lips. "I think it's kind of cute you wanted me to be the one to get you up on that horse, into that saddle. I think you liked the idea of me grabbing you by the waist and teaching you something."

She smiles softly. "I did like that idea. But also, I felt good with you. I felt safe. I think it was that first night we spoke. I hadn't felt good all month. So when you asked to take me out on a horse ride, I knew that my heart was going to be protected by you. Is that crazy?"

I shake my head. " It's not crazy. I think that's called love at first sight."

She smiles. "You believe in all that?"

I nod. "Hell yeah, I do. What do you think this is?”

“You meant what you said about marrying you, about making me a Starborn?"

"Yeah, I meant it," I tell her.

She laughs. "You're crazy. Your mom and dad are going to think you're a lunatic. You've known me a few days, you bring me to your brand-new house for what, less than an hour, and you're already trying to make me your wife?"

"I think they have a pretty good idea of what I'm trying to do with you."

"You sure?" she asks, running a hand over my bare chest. Lying here with her feels so damn right.

"I'm sure. And honestly, I'm a grown-ass man. I can do what I like. The question is, Livingston, what do you want? What would you like? This is my life. I'm going to be here on this ranch. It's where I belong. It's my destiny. It's where I want to be. I also want to be with you. And I know you belong on a horse, but what does that look like? You're not from this part of the world."

"I was just telling my aunt how what I really want is to have a family one day, a handful of kids, not a crazy number, but enough. I didn't love being an only child, and I know you didn't either. I want a family," she tells me.

"A family with me?" I press.

She smiles. She kisses me. She wraps her naked body around me, straddling me.

"God, this is insane," I tell her. "Your body is fucking insane." I press my hands on her hips. My cock is already hard again.

"Yes, with you," she tells me. "I want a family with you. I want to live here with you at this incredible ranch in this beautiful home that I can apparently redecorate anytime I'd like. I want to live 90 minutes from my aunt and uncle whom I adore. I want to live close to Whiskey Run. I want to be here with the man I love. Turns out, I got lucky falling in love with a cowboy.”

"How so?" I ask her, grinning like a damn fool, looking at my naked girl, her perfect tits, her gorgeous smile, her long Rapunzel hair, giving me everything I fucking want in this whole damn world.

"I got lucky," she says, "because I love to ride horses and you happen to have a whole hell of a lot. I just need the opportunity to go compete anytime my heart desires. Is that too much to ask?"

I shake my head. "I can give you that. You can go around the whole damn world and ride horses whenever you please. Of course, I'll be going with you because I'm not letting that sweet ass too far out of my sight."

"I can handle that," she says. "I didn't know how often you could be away from the ranch."
