David gestures to the podium that stands by the side and I pick up the book hidden behind a red wrapping.

“Today’s your day. Go blow them all away,” David kisses me on the head. I ask him if he wants us both to unwrap the book together but he just shakes his head.

“It’s your book, darling. I'm just the hero,” he says in the mic, drawing applause and chuckles from the crowd.

Slowly I unveil the book, and the lights and flashes going off almost blind me.

Six months with David is the title.

A member of the media asks me to speak a few words about the book. My nerves flare, but the reassuring smile from David immediately calms me down. “We’ll do this together. You and me,” he said to me before we walked on. With him by my side, nothing is impossible.

“In a nutshell,” I begin, “it's an uncensored, uncut look into David’s life as he prepared for the final, the hardships he faced and the way he worked through all of them. It began as a simple article but we felt that the story needed to be told in much more detail. So here we are.” I smile.

“So does this story have a happy ending?” someone asks.

“Well, is there any doubt?” David answers, coming forward to wrap his arm around me.

Already in the N.Y. Times bestseller charts, even before its release, the book is a huge success. A year ago, I never would have imagined being a best selling author. Even in my wildest dreams I never expected to feel as happy as I do right in this moment. David’s changed my world, made me feel happy and loved, and in turn, I’ve stood by him like a rock.

The thought that we belonged in different worlds seems so foolish now, because the reality is that we complement each other perfectly. We fill the gaps in each other’s lives and as cliche as it might sound, we complete each other.

The icing on the cake is that ever since he and his teammates held their Cup victory party at Stats, business has been booming at Dad’s old bar. We officially changed to become a sport bar dedicated to soccer, and the place is now the unofficial hangout for all Knights fans to congregate and discuss their favorite team.

I still can hardly believe that Dad’s bar has been saved from going out of business. But it’s all crazy. Being a published author is nuts. But most of all, I can’t believe that the amazing Mr. David Adams is all mine. And I said it all in the dedication I wrote in front of the book, one that I read to the crowd, who quiets to listen.

You never know when love will find you. Attraction is not a choice. The way you love me, the way you're with me and the person you've made me into… it’s all left me no choice but to fall head over heels in love with you. Never will my fingers stop filling in the space between yours. Thanks for loving me the way I am.
