“Good God, I missed you guys,” I tell them. I still need to call Fallon back and let her know shit’s going better, really fuckin’ better. She’s texted a few times, and I’ve done the same, but it’s time I let her know what happened was on me. I’m better for it. Found myself and a woman along the way, and even though I know Texas isn’t my home anymore, that doesn’t mean the brothers and their women aren’t family.

“Missed your crazy ass, too,” Shadow comments, blowing me a kiss like the dickhead he is.

“Alright, what did you find out at the warehouse?” Clearly, my bike was impounded when they arrested me. It’s sittin’ beside the others now.

“Not much. Someone wiped the video feed clean. Nothin’s there, not before, during, or after. We’re looking at a person who’s tech savvy. Ruger’s doing what he can back at the club, but right now, we need to look at everyone and everythin’,” Shovel states.

“Fuck, well, at least everythin’ was empty and they came up empty handed.” I smile brightly. Whoever put in the anonymous call has got to be pissed to know there ain’t shit to bury our MC under. What sucks, though, is we’d be stupid not to think eyes won’t be on it now, which means it’s time for me to secure something else.

“Damn straight. I’m gonna go back out there, see if I can’t find any tracks,” Shadow states. If anyone can figure this mess out, it’ll be Shadow.

“Thanks, Shadow.” He turns to his bike. Shovel nods for us to do the same. And with the clusterfuck that this shit is, I’m ready to be back with my woman, needing to have her warmth surrounding me, and a damn shower to wash this shit day away.

“He’s back. Girls, the men are home.” I’m sitting at my computer at the front desk, Raven sitting in a chair while playing on her phone and Persephone leafing through a magazine.

“I hear them,” is the last thing I catch because I’m flying out of my seat, ignoring the emails I was dealing with. I could have sworn I checked all of the Inn’s mail and it was junk last night. So, I’m unsure why there are so many now.

My feet stop, and I watch as Decker backs in his motorcycle. The look he tosses me over his shoulder is so hungry with need, toothpick between his full lips, looking so sexy, that I know as soon as he’s off his motorcycle, I’ll be climbing him like the poles that Raven uses to work out with or teach new strippers dance moves on.

The other guys are doing the same, their women now standing beside me. A car pulls in behind them in a different area, but Shadow isn’t here. I’m practically bouncing in my shoes when I watch Decker climb off his bike, long legs eating up the space between us, and that’s when my body is moving, running, then leaping into his open arms.

“I missed you.” Those words barely leave me before his lips are fused to mine, hungrier than ever, more insatiable than normal, our tongues entwining with one another’s in a fevered pace of a kiss, and even when we’re breathless, we don’t stop. Not until Shovel clears his throat does Decker let go of my legs to allow me to slide down and out of his arms, me mewling the entire time.

“I’m back, sweetness. Not goin’ anywhere, okay?” He cups my cheeks, leaning down so his eyes are level with mine.

“Okay, I suppose you need to congregate with your brothers and what I’m assuming is your lawyer. I’ll just, umm, work. You’ll let me know what you can?” I know a lot of this side of our relationship is a need-to-know basis, and I’m trying not to be needy. Okay, fine, I’m trying not to be nosey is what it boils down to.

“Appreciate that, Jolie. As soon as shit is figured out, I’ll come find you, then it’s you and me.” He kisses my lips softly and then walks to his brothers. I spin around, knowing if I don’t get myself busy, I’ll be pacing the floors. So, as much as it pains me, I head back inside, but before I do so, I offer the guys something else. “There’s a formal dining room you guys can use. It’s not open to the guests today.”

“Appreciate that,” Razor says.

“No problem.” I walk back into the lobby. My dad is standing by the front desk, a look of distress coming over him. While waiting for Decker to get back, I let him know the basics of what was going on. I figured this would be the time he’d say Decker needs to leave or that I could do better, but he didn’t. He just said, “You and your mother, full of grit and grace. Never would leave the man you love, no matter what.” It was cryptic and made me realize maybe their relationship wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns when I was growing up, as I somehow made it seem in my head.
