He crushed her to him and took her mouth in a deep, hungry kiss, which Mia returned with hunger of her own. She could feel his thick, still-exposed shaft branding her belly, but she didn’t care. In fact, she wanted more of him—wanted him inside her, filling her, making her his forever…
But at last, Storn broke the kiss.
“Come,” he said hoarsely. “We must go or we’ll miss the party.”
“You still want to go to the party?” Mia asked breathlessly.
“We made a commitment,” Storn pointed out. “It’s important to keep it.”
“I don’t think Kaylee will mind if we don’t show,” Mia protested. In fact, her best friend would probably be overjoyed for her if she told her she’d skipped the Halloween bash to stay home and bond with the big Kindred.
But Storn shook his head.
“We should at least make an appearance,” he told her. “We don’t have to stay long—we just need to let people see you. Then we can come back here, if you like and…see where the night takes us.”
He was looking into her eyes as he said this and Mia felt a shiver of pleasure go down her spine and lodge between her thighs where it tingled and teased her already hot pussy.
He’s talking about bonding me to him tonight, she thought as she looked into his chocolate brown eyes. And I think I want him to—I really think I do.
Though it would be an extremely quick courtship with a human man, with a Kindred warrior, it felt completely right. Partially because of the Dream-Sharing they’d done, but partially because a part of her just seemed to know that Storn was the right one for her.
Maybe it’s like Kaylee said—maybe the Kindred Goddess really does put her children together with the right mate, she thought. And maybe I’m the right one for Storn and he’s the right one for me.
“Yes,” she said, looking up at him. “Yes, I…I think I’d like that. Like to come back here afterwards and see…what happens.”
“Wonderful, lovely one,” he murmured. “Then let us go.”
He took her hand and turned towards the door but Mia stopped him.
“Wait, shouldn’t you put your, uh…your shaft away?” she asked, feeling her cheeks get hot again.
“I have already.” He turned to show her and she was surprised to see nothing but the soft, curling brown fur that covered his lower regions again.
“Oh! How did it go away so quickly?” she exclaimed.
He shrugged.
“I have control over my shaft. Well, most of the time,” he added. “I confess, I nearly unsheathed by accident when I first saw you in that gown tonight.” He gave her a half-lidded, admiring look that took in the Yonnie Six Mistress outfit and made Mia blush. “But for the most part, it is not a problem”
“Oh, uh, all right.” She nodded.
It was clear to see there were several things she would have to get used to about being with a Monstrum Kindred. She wondered if all Monstrum had sheathes like Storn did? If so, they must not often feel the need to wear trousers. He had probably been wearing them all this time just to make everyone feel comfortable around him because really, as long as his shaft was tucked away, there was no point in wearing tight black leather over all that fur.
“Let’s go, shall we?” Storn tugged gently on her hand and she realized she was standing there, staring at his crotch.
“Oh, of course!” she exclaimed, feeling her cheeks get hot again. “I…I’m sorry. You’re right—let’s go.”
Storn chuckled softly.
“It’s all right, you know—I’m aware that my anatomy is different from your kind. You can look all you like and ask any questions that may occur to you.”
“Well, I may take you up on that later,” Mia said, as they left her new suite. “But not now. Let’s just concentrate on getting through this party.”
“Agreed,” Storn murmured. “And afterwards, we can take our time.”
Feeling a shiver of desire go down her spine, Mia nodded and they headed towards the music room together.

Kaylee had gone all out for the party, Mia thought as they entered the music room. There were Halloween decorations everywhere—carved jack-o-lanterns sat on tables and black bats hung from the ceiling. Spider webs clung to the corners of every doorway and skeletons lounged in chairs looking spookily nonchalant.
There was also a whole table full of treats, the centerpiece of which was a huge bowl full of bloody eyeball punch. Mia had actually helped assemble that—it was easy. All you had to do was get a bunch of lychee fruit and stuff them with blueberries to make the eyeballs. Then you used a toothpick to draw lines of red food coloring on the lychees to look like veins. You floated the bloody eyeballs in a punchbowl with more red food coloring and voila—bloody eyeball punch.
