Everything was perfect—simple, crazy, rustic, and perfect.
As they turned the corner of the house, she saw Caleb standing at the beautiful makeshift altar he’d constructed with his own hands. He’d gone above and beyond trying to make today a dream come true for her.
His hair was combed back and the man filled out a suit in an unholy way. The moment she caught sight of him, tears filled her eyes. She didn’t want to ruin Mika’s make-up job, but her happiness was just too much.
He stared at her, watching every step she took. When she reached him, they joined hands. “I don’t know what to say,” he said. “I’ve never seen anything so breathtaking in my life.”
“Thank you.”
“This what you dreamed of, sweetheart?”
“This is everything and more.”
She looked around. All her new friends watched from their seats. The decorations and effort Caleb and his pack had put into making this day special were incredible. This was her new forest home, now and forever. There was no place else she ever wanted to be.
Joe took his spot at the head of the altar and began to recite the vows from a sheet of paper. All these shifters were accommodating her human side, and it touched her so deeply.
“Do you take Caleb to be your husband and mate for the rest of your life?”
“I do,” she said.
“Do you take Bethany to be your wife and mate for the rest of your life?”
“I do.” His deep baritone sent shivers through her body. He maintained intense eye contact the entire time, as if there was no audience, just the two of them.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. And life mates. You can now kiss your bride,” Joe said, stepping back.
Caleb smirked, that evil, sexy smirk that always made her heart flutter. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. Someone whistled. Then he bent down and kissed her. Not a token kiss, but a kiss to end all kisses. The entire forest went away and she slipped into that sweet zone only Caleb could bring her to.
It was the hoots and hollers that pulled her back to reality. They looked around and laughed together.
“Get a room!” shouted Brian.
The small crowd began to throw confetti, so they held hands and escaped into the house. Caleb kicked the door shut behind them.
“What about the buffet outside? It took forever to prepare,” she said.
“I have all I need right here. They’ll all be fine without us.” He narrowed his eyes and growled, half-human, half-wolf. Her pussy immediately flooded with warmth.
“But…”
He licked his lips and she was a goner.
“You don’t wear a wedding dress like that and expect me to attend the after party,” he said, running the backs of his fingers over her mountainous cleavage.
“It’s hard to get off,” she warned. Bethany twisted slightly to the side to show all the ties holding the ensemble together. In one quick movement, he used his wolf claws to slit all the ties. The dress fell into a cloud of white on the ground around her.
She stood naked, her mouth agape.
“No panties?” He cocked a brow.
Bethany shrugged.
He stalked forward and she kept backing up. “So, we’ve consummated our mating. But, from what I’ve researched, the honeymoon is when humans get to fuck after the wedding, right?”
“Yes.”
“Anything goes?”
She tried to hide her smile. “Anything goes.”
He chased her into their bedroom and slammed the door behind them.
The End
