Every vow, I’ve already told her before today.
Every promise made and kept through our life so far.
My only need is to put a ring on her finger, making it official.
Making her truly mine forever, giving our children a real mom and a real dad.
It’s when I ask her again if she’ll be mine, my wife for the rest of our lives. The only part of the traditional ceremony I wanted to be changed, that I feel my heart go.
“Will you be my lawful wedded wife?” I ask Becky. “From today and every other day.”
There’s the distant chime of a heavy bell from a bigger church close by, making us both smile and the local preacher beam as he raises his eyes up.
“I do,” she whispers, our eyes locked as intense as the first night I claimed her body.
It’s the only two words I need to hear from Becky, and once the rings are exchanged and union sealed with a kiss, it’s official.
Our own family in the works, with mom, dad, and baby on the way.
The honeymoon was my idea, the real surprise.
Staying just long enough for some tea and sandwiches at the church with the padre, we make haste once I notice the day slipping away from us, and notice my growing urge to consummate our marriage with my bride.
I don’t think our hands leave each other’s bodies the whole way up to the lake house, with hardly a word spoken either.
That’s how it is with Becky and me.
I’ll show her how much I love her, tell her quietly after she’s finished shuddering on my hard cock inside her.
Sometimes I’ll just put a hand on the small of her back, leaning in to whisper the same, other times I’ll just hold her.
It’s all we know now, our spoken and unspoken, undying love.
My gift from heaven. This angel come to let me rescue her and keep her safe forever.
“This looks familiar…” she says, noting the turn off to the lake house, making me shrug.
I’ll play dumb right up until she sees it.
All the renovations, the new extensions, and most of all, the extra land and waterfront I’ve bought up now that I’m back in business again.
All in her name too, and the kids of course, when they finally come along.
A true little slice of heaven to show her just how much she means to me. How much all our future family can be reminded of the same whenever they visit.
It’s taken some doing, getting the place ready without me being on site to supervise, but I’ve seen the photos and know it’ll be perfect.
I’m not disappointed.
Once we turn the familiar bend in the country road, with the late afternoon sun glinting on fallen leaves after some light unseasonal rain, I know she gets it.
Where we’re going at last.
“It’s been so long since we came up here,” Becky sighs, reaching over to squeeze my hand. Thinking it’s the same old dusty cottage I’ve had her bent over in front of the fireplace so many times before.
Not that there was anything wrong with that.
No.
But this is different now. My wedding present as well as the first extension of our family’s real estate.
All of our futures. But the most special day is today.
The first day of the rest of our lives, officially man and wife.
I notice the changes in the road, the new fence, and the driveway as we get closer.
Pleased when I hear Becky gasp and grip me tighter as we approach the old place.
Sensing this is more than just a weekend getaway or even our honeymoon, she gasps louder when we get close enough, the old cottage barely recognizable.
“You didn’t?” she asks, slapping my arm playfully but keeping all eyes on the view as it extends to both of us.
As new to my eyes as it is to hers, making my chest swell knowing that it was the right thing to do.
“I did.” I let her know proudly.
Years ago I wanted to sell the place, glad now I didn’t, the estate agent telling me with the development and extensions it’s worth more than ten times what I paid.
I make sure to slow right down as we near the front. Making sure we both get as clear a view as we can before getting out of the truck.
She knows now to wait for me to come get her, today more than any other day and I grip her like never before in her wedding dress as I carry her towards the threshold.
“It’s like a totally new place,” she exclaims again but lets me know what’s most important. Most pressing.
Her soft chest presses into mine as her fingers trace my body’s outline under my clothes while she gnaws at her lip.
A classic sign she needs to be set down, on all fours preferably these days.
