Zoe: You suck!
Me: I think your ass really looked good when you were standing on that chair.
Her head snaps up to look at the lens in the corner of the room.
Zoe: Stop that!
She raises her hand up and gives me the finger.
Me: I’m going to spank you for that.
Zoe: Ugh! Stop that!
Me: Fuck it, next time I have to go anywhere, you’re coming with me. I don’t give a shit where in the world it is.
Zoe: Promise? I didn’t want to say how much I didn’t want you to go, but I really don’t like it.
Me: Me either. I know it’s so fucking soon in our relationship, but I can’t stop from feeling this way about you. I need you so badly.
Zoe: So badly it hurts.
Me: I’ll be back as soon as I can. I promise. As soon as I get back, I’ll never let you go from my side again.
Daniel stands just outside the conference room with his arms down at his sides and a relaxed smile on his face. He’s happy I’m here. The smaller man standing beside him though doesn’t look nearly as fucking happy. Kang Wong has one of the sourest fucking faces I’ve ever seen.
He looks like he lost his favorite vial of coke.
Striding forward, I clasp hands with Daniel. “Daniel, how goes things?”
“Good Bryce. I have to admit, I’m surprised to see you here though,” he says with a smile.
Like hell he is, but we have our script down pat. He knows I’m here to scare the shit out of old man Wong and his whole fucking board.
“I wanted to come over and check on things. I expected this to be wrapped up two days ago,” I say, and turn to look at Kang as I finish talking.
“Now which son are you… I think Feng is a taller man, so that must mean you’re Feng, correct?” I say with a smile as I mentally slap this pathetic, drug abusing asshole across the face.
Right now, I’m pissed off, horny as fuck, and missing my woman.
A sneer spreads across his face as he says, “Kang, and I don’t see why you need to be here for our meeting.”
“Hmm.” I smile at him as I walk around him and pull open the door to the conference room.
Behind me, I hear Daniel chuckle something low under his breath.
Heads turn in my direction as I enter the room and walk around the conference table.
“Gentlemen,” I say as I unbutton my suit jacket.
I bow my head first to Mister Wong, then to his son Feng, before I slowly turn my head and give one small bow to the rest of the board. Of the nine members, only two look like they don’t know me. The rest I’m sure do.
They also know my presence is a very bad fucking sign for their pocket books.
I can see dollar signs floating down the drain in their eyes as they watch me pull out a chair and sit down on my company’s side of the table. We have four people here, including Daniel and me.
They have eleven, including that little shit Kang.
Mister Wong stands up slowly and looks at me with a small amount of trepidation. He knows I could make this a fucking nightmare for him if I want to, or I can flat out walk and not be out one fucking penny. I’ve been looking at his competitors in this country; his air compression designs aren’t the only ones on the market.
“Mr. Ericsson, to what do we owe this surprise?” he asks politely.
Fucker knows I’m pissed he couldn’t keep his shithead, coked-out son on a damn leash. Now he’s probably wondering if I’m going to twist the screws or pull out all together if they don’t roll over completely for me.
“I just wanted to be here today. I heard there were some issues with the final details of the contract,” I say as I open up my briefcase and pull out my contract for his company.
Looking over to Daniel, I say, “If you could give Mr. Wong a copy of the updated contract, I’d appreciate it.”
Eyes widening just enough for the other men sitting around the table to see, Daniel nods before he takes the copy I pulled out of my briefcase.
While he walks around the table, I smile at Mr. Wong.
“New contract? What do you mean new contract?” Kang asks loudly as he tries to look over the shoulder of his father.
I’ve only handed out one contract for a reason, and I want every single fucking man here to know I’m the head motherfucking asshole in charge. Even Feng, the good son, must look over his father’s shoulder.
“If you’d flip to page thirteen of the contract, you will see the newly updated price we are willing to offer for this company,” I say, and for first time since I’ve been taken away from Zoe, I feel almost like my old self again.
