“And it would have to always be with you.” She pulled down her skirt and fixed her messy hair. “You’re the master of distraction.”
“I wasn’t kidding about my office. I think you’re…”
There was a loud rumble, and the elevator car flooded with fluorescent lighting. A few rattles and the elevator began a slow decent back to the main floor.
“Thank God. Any longer, and we might have been forced to do an encore.”
Not that she would ever turn that down.
She looked him over, and despite the mind-blowing sex session they’d just finished, she saw the spark flicker in his eyes at the mere mention of a repeat performance.
The doors opened with a ding, and Jordan ushered her out.
People flooded the lobby: co-workers, security guards, maintenance personnel, even a couple of fire fighters, and paramedics. Some office workers waited around in annoyance, no doubt their wait time had doubled as a result of the break down. Everyone seemed to be going about their business, but they all had quirky smiles plastered on their faces, their eyes darting to the couple then quickly away.
A man in a suit and tie approached.
“I’m Bob Brown, Security Manager for the building.” He held out his hand to her.
“Becca.”
“Everyone all right?”
They nodded.
“Good. There are paramedics on site if you need any medical attention.”
She looked up at Jordan. “I think we’re both fine.”
“Just a little hot and bothered?” The man laughed low in his throat. He turned but stopped halfway. “A tip for next time.”
Next time? Becca hoped she would never have to endure another elevator situation. At least not without Jordan.
“We have security cameras positioned in each elevator car.”
Becca recoiled and looked at Jordan.
“Not that a visual was necessary with the enhanced audio we could hear from the elevator shaft.”
Her face flushed with embarrassment. That would explain the smirks of the onlookers. Jordon looked at Bob, a silent manly exchange on both their faces. Men.
“I’ve got to get back and write a few reports. If you’re both fine, then I’ll send the emergency personnel on their way.” He gave a quick nod and turned on his heel, weaving through the crowd.
It was time to get back to reality.
Her co-workers were probably wondering where she was. Her boss probably thought she was slacking off. She headed for the bank of elevators across the way, slightly embarrassed to look Jordan in the eye.
“Becca?”
It sounded nice rolling off his tongue.
He grabbed her by the elbow and swirled her around.
She gobbled up the sight of his handsome face, clear tanned skin, dark eyes made even more beautiful now that she’d seen them blaze with sexual need.
“Like I said before, I wasn’t kidding about my office.” He pulled out a business card from his wallet. “Thirty-second floor. Whenever you’re in the mood for something sweet…” He lowered his head, his mouth hovering beside her ear. “…or salty.”
