“You get on top, so you can be in control,” he said breathlessly.
“Not the first time. I want you in control, Lawson. I’ve never done this before,” I begged.
“Very well,” Lawson said. He kissed me passionately, thrusting his tongue into my mouth like he had with my sex. He tasted of bourbon, of mint, of smoke and sex.
I scooted up the bed and rested against the pillows and Emery followed me on all fours until he was planked parallel over my body.
“Can I come inside you,” he asked me huskily.
I nodded my head and reached out and touched his face, running my hands over his stubble shadowed jaw and stared into his smoky dark eyes. His hair tousled forward where it was long on top, and I brushed it out of his eyes.
When he lined himself up with my entrance, I again closed my eyes in anticipation.
“Celia, look at me,” he said. So I made eye contact with him as he entered me. He moved slowly and gently, one hand on my hip, the other holding his whole body up.
I looked into his eyes as he pushed past the pain and penetrated me completely. And all I could think was how terrified I’d been of this moment in Joplin, who would own me and use me and keep me captive. Here I was in love with the man I was choosing and it felt like the most precious freedom, the most perfect union.
When I came with him inside me, the feeling was one of complete abandon. The orgasm rolled through me and continued to echo as my body shook with fulfillment. My muscles clenched and squeezed as my entire body shook and I looked into my lover’s eyes as I fell apart underneath him.
Emery began to come undone as my orgasm crested and he pounded away, his brow cinching and then relaxing as he groaned out his climax. I loved the feeling of us coming together, him inside me. I wrapped my legs around his waist and hugged him to me as he collapsed on my chest.
I was sore and sated, my chest and face flushed with heat.
He rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling, pushing his hair back from his brow. I rolled into his side and rested my head on his shoulder.
“You’re such a good teacher,” I giggled.
He turned his head and looked at me seriously.
“If anyone is teaching here, it’s you, my dear. That connection, it’s not something one can create or fake. I’ve never been so in tuned with another person in my entire life. That, Celia, was synergy, and it’s rare and beautiful, just like you.”
“Maybe it’s because I’m a beauty quark,” I said, kissing his nose.
“I’m afraid we cannot be described within the laws of physics, Celia.”
“Well then, maybe we should keep experimenting,” I said with a smile.
Chapter 9
EMERY
"Good Morning, Professor Lawson," the sweetest voice in the world called my name before the door slammed behind her. I looked up and smiled at my gorgeous woman.
It had been three weeks, and every day, I found my life was brighter because Celia was in it.
"Hello beautiful defector, how was your day?"
"Unbearable," she dramatically wiped her brow. “Lou made me mop the floors and Lysol down all of the lockers,” she said smiling at me mischievously. “I might be too exhausted for Physics today.”
“I can teach you physics while you’re reclined, my dear. While I’m inside you, too for that matter.”
She’d sat across from me and my giant desk put too much space between us. I pushed back in my chair and patted my thigh as Celia pulled two coffees and various pastries from a brown paper bag.
“You came to seduce me with breakfast?”
“I want you to eat,” she said. She bit into a flakey croissant and some of the pastry landed on her breasts, which she quickly brushed off into wastepaper basked. I grabbed her thighs and pulled her onto my lap.
“If you’d move in with me, you’d know exactly what I was ingesting every single day.” I nibbled the sensitive skin of her neck, ran the tip of my nose up behind her ear and into her hair. Celia always smelled good, like sugared milk, a scent that was equal parts innocent and comforting.
“Maybe after I graduate,” she said. She took the lid off of one coffee and passed it my way. A Cortado—exactly the way I usually ordered it for myself. This seamlessness and ease with another person was new to me. It also felt extraordinary, the fact that I had someone who knew me well enough to pick my favorite pastry and order my custom-made coffee. I wanted more of it, wanted to go deeper and take it further. But Celia was holding back and I wasn’t going to force her.
