“Need it,” Canaan moaned, still using his fingers to tease Renzo’s cockhead. They were a tangle of arms and legs and hard cocks, an erotic pretzel that Canaan couldn’t get enough of. “Faster.”

Renzo’s strokes quickened right along with his breath and his thrusts against Canaan. “God. I need you so much.”

If Canaan hadn’t already been on the edge, those words would have pushed him there. This big, strong guy needed Canaan. Humbling and gratifying all at once and sexy as hell, to be what Renzo wanted, to give him what he needed.

“You’re getting me off,” he groaned.

“Tell me,” Renzo demanded. “Tell me how good it feels.”

“So good. Like I’m gonna die if I don’t come, but hell, I never want this to end. Wanna stay here with you forever,” he babbled.

“Do it. Come for me. God, I need that. Want to watch you go.” Renzo’s fist tightened on Canaan’s cock, his voice nothing more than a husky growl now.

“Fuck. It’s there. Go fast. Come on.”

A switch seemed to flip in Renzo, and he thrust faster against Canaan, hand blurring as he stroked Canaan off.

“God. Ren. Ren.” Second orgasms like this sometimes hurt, in the best way possible, and Canaan throbbed with ache and need and want. His whole body tensed, feet, legs, ass, stomach, even his neck. And apparently that’s what Renzo had been waiting for as he gave a mighty shout and coated Canaan’s hand and his thighs.

“Oh. My God.” Renzo fell back against the bed.

“I know right?” Canaan snuggled in next to him. “We need another shower after we order some food. I want double of everything.”

“You got doubles.” Renzo’s laugh washed over Canaan, almost as good as coming, making this guy so relaxed and happy. “But sure, get your pad thai and whatever. Order me something good with lots of noodles and sauce. But right now...” Renzo yawned wide, eyes already shut.

“Sleep,” Canaan whispered. Plugging his phone in, he used it to get the delivery food app and order a huge quantity of Thai food plus more water and some soda. While he waited for the food, he jumped into the shower to rinse off, then pulled on a pair of shorts so he wouldn’t scar the delivery person. Renzo was still passed out in the center of the bed, so Canaan got a warm washcloth and stretched out next to him and gently sponged him off.

Renzo barely stirred for Canaan’s attentions, and snuggled deeper into the bed as soon as Canaan covered him with a blanket. Asleep like this, he looked far younger. More vulnerable. And as he watched him sleep, it hit Canaan that while he was on this weird adrenaline high, Renzo did this every day. Every day for days on end he confronted danger, high risks, threat of death, and he had a whole team of people counting on him the entire time too. While Canaan had been busy freaking out, he’d worried a lot about himself, about Grandpa, about what he’d miss out on. And he’d worried some about what he and Renzo could have had, especially when Renzo had been threatening to go out on his own.

But Renzo had neither freaked out nor focused on himself—the whole time, he’d been worried about Canaan. Keeping him warm. Making the alarms to drink and eat. Making sure Canaan had first choice of food. Coming up with plans to keep them safe and ensure the rescuers spotted them. Damn. It was humbling to think of all Renzo had done for him. And now Renzo was exhausted. Spent. Energy reserves clearly gone.

And yet, he would do something like this again, soon probably. With better equipment and better teammates, but he’d face danger again, head-on. Because that was what he did. Who he was. His moral fabric was made of camo—tough as ripstop, unwavering and unyielding. Maybe Renzo had joined up because of his brother originally, but he hadn’t been lying about finding himself on the teams. And who he’d found there was possibly the best man Canaan had ever met. His throat ached just looking at Renzo, hands tightly clenching to stop from touching him.

“I’m going to take better care of you,” he whispered softly. “You took care of me, so maybe it’s time someone took care of you like you deserve. How about me?”

Renzo, of course, slumbered on, but something inside Canaan shifted. Changed. He hadn’t been looking for something like this, a new responsibility this heavy, or a goal as important as his schooling, but here it was. And he accepted this new reality in front of him where this sleeping giant was suddenly the most important person in Canaan’s life. Now the real challenge would be keeping him, because no way was Canaan letting this one go.

Chapter Sixteen

Morning sex. Renzo woke up with a raging hard-on and Canaan on the brain. He owed Canaan too—Canaan had handled the food last night, Renzo barely waking up long enough to chow down before falling back to sleep. His body did this after missions sometimes too, going into deep hibernation to recharge. And having Canaan nearby to hold on to made the sleep even better than usual. Now, though, he was finally back awake, normal energy restored, and he could finally give Canaan that morning wake-up he seemed to crave so badly. But when he rolled over to find Canaan next to him, the bed was cold and empty.
