“I don’t care,” I said, and in that moment, I totally didn’t. Who needed a master’s program when I had Caspian, who happened to be a master of my body?
“Lucky for you,” he said, gently de-tangling our bodies. “I care.” I gave him a little pout and he shook his head. “You will not be late on your first day.” He held up the lunch box, carrying it to our front door.
I grabbed my book bag, still pouting as I stopped in front of him. I took the lunch box from him, finally breaking my pout. “Thank you for making this,” I said.
“You’re welcome,” he said, grinning down at me with that confident smirk of his.
“Are you sure I can’t just be a little late?” I asked, batting my eyelashes at him.
He laughed, leaning down to graze those lips over mine. “No,” he said, the word primal. “But when you get home?” He trailed a finger over my collarbone, then lower. “I will make good on what we started here today.”
“Promise?” I asked, breathless from his innocent touch.
“Promise,” he said, and he sealed that with a kiss.
