A Vigo woman wouldn’t be caught dead in a kitchen. Her place was by her husband’s side, or doing other trivial things.

She had seen the cookbooks in the library though. It was nowhere near to cooking, but she liked looking at the pictures. Ugly Beast didn’t have anything but milk.

She tensed up as the front door opened and closed. The sound of men entering had her tensing up. Should she hide? Run? This wasn’t normal for her.

Just as she was about to have a meltdown about what she was supposed to do, Ugly Beast rounded the corner with three men she recognized from the clubhouse dressed in the same leather biker cuts.

She stood perfectly still as he stared at her.

Had she done something wrong?

“This is Kinky, Hunter, and Rock. They stopped by for breakfast.”

“Actually, we came to see how married life is treating him,” Kinky said.

“We saw him getting breakfast and couldn’t resist,” Rock said.

She looked from each man, not really knowing what to say.

Finally, looking Ugly Beast, she pointed to the coffeepot. “I’m making coffee.”

“You know how to make coffee?”

“Raven showed me.”

All the men apart from Ugly Beast burst out laughing. “That woman doesn’t know how to boil a fucking kettle let alone make a coffee,” Rock said.

Heat filled her cheeks. She wanted to defend her friend, but right now she was surrounded by not one but four men, and all of them terrified her.

Locking her fingers together, she watched the men as they put bags down on the counter.

“I didn’t know what you liked so I just got a whole load of food,” Ugly Beast said.

The smells were amazing, and her stomach chose that moment to growl. Stepping up to the counter, she waited her turn as the men tore open packages and began eating. She went to the bag they hadn’t opened and saw a bunch of fruit inside. Taking out a banana, she peeled back the skin and took a bite.

“I bought you more than fruit,” Ugly Beast said. He held a carton of pancakes open. She watched him cut a slice and hold it up for her to take.

The pancake was soft and fluffy, and the syrup sweet and tasty.

She closed her eyes.

“Look at them, they are just the sweetest together,” Rock said, his voice going really high-pitched.

“Next they’re going to be braiding hair, and it’s going to be so cute and sweet.”

She didn’t like hearing them talk like that. Embarrassed, she pulled away and grabbed a fork of her own. She’d thought it was really sweet Ugly Beast feeding her. Clearly, it wasn’t.

“I will shoot every single one of your asses if you don’t stop.”

“You’re not going to feed us?” Rock asked.

She looked up in time to see him batting his eyelashes, trying to be a girl. It wasn’t cute.

“I’ll feed you to my dogs, how about that?” he asked.

“You’re no fun.”

“Eat up and get the fuck out,” Ugly Beast said.

Was he mad? Had she done something wrong? Did he blame her for the men teasing them?

She lost her appetite. Finishing up the bananas, she left the pancakes well enough alone. The last thing she wanted to be doing was throwing them up. The tension in her mounted as one by one, the men left.

Abriana stood in the kitchen. She’d filled the sink with water, and she was putting the cutlery they’d used inside ready to wash them up.

She stared at the leftover food as Ugly Beast entered the kitchen. He was impossible to read.

She didn’t know if he was angry or not.

“What would you like me to do with the food?”

“I bought more than we needed. Save it. Put it in the fridge.” He was already closing up packets.

With shaking hands, she put the food in order inside the fridge.

“Sorry about the guys.”

She looked toward him.

“The way they act, you wouldn’t believe they’re grown-ass men.”

“You’re not mad?” she asked, nibbling her lip.

“Why the fuck would I be mad?” Now he looked mad at her question.

“Their teasing.”

Ugly Beast burst out laughing. “If you think I’d get mad at that, you have not spent enough time around the club.”

“I haven’t spent any time around the club. Apart from Raven.”

“You won’t be going out with her again.”

“I like her.”

“You can visit her at the club. I’m not trusting her here anymore. She doesn’t have a lick of sense, that girl.”

She saw he adored the other woman.

“Do you like her?”

His laughter got harder and louder. She didn’t know what she had said that was so funny.

“I don’t want Raven if that’s what you’re asking. She is more likely to shoot a man’s dick off than suck him.”

She felt her cheeks heat at the description.

“I’ve got to get used to how innocent you still are,” he said.

“I’m fine.”

“Not around me. I’m not leaving the house today. I’m cleaning up the yard. I hear there’s going to be a storm in a couple of days. I want to be prepared.”
