Her recovery from getting shot had been a huge success. The bullet had entered her stomach, and the removal of it hadn’t been too difficult. The longest part of her recovery was waiting for the hole to heal. She ended on up a restricted diet so she wouldn’t cause further damage.

Throughout it all, Alonzo was by her side. The moment she made it out of the hospital a month later—he wouldn’t let her leave sooner and had given the hospital a huge donation—they’d gotten married. Jessica had helped her to arrange it all from her hospital bed. The gown, the church, all of it had been so magical, but what made it more so was knowing Alonzo would be waiting for her.

The instant she entered the church and saw him, all of her worries had faded away and all that remained was the two of them.

Maria hadn’t stayed with them. Alonzo had told her she’d made a permanent move to Italy.

Jessica and Caesar lived with them, and Tessa helped out as often as she could.

With regards to Alonzo and dealing with the other members of the mafia, they hadn’t refused to acknowledge him. He was still the leader of the Zanetti family, his role within the mafia still there. There were times she was nervous for him. Whenever he had to leave to exact justice or to deal with problems that came his way, she feared for his life.

She had washed many of his clothes that were covered in blood.

Still, she wouldn’t back down.

He was the love of her life, and as he wrapped his arms around her, she smiled.

“Alonzo,” she said, moaning as his hand moved between her thighs, teasing her clit.

“I love it when your pussy tightens around me. It feels so fucking good.”

“I’m pregnant,” she said.

This made him pause. “What?”

“I’m pregnant We’re going to have a baby.”

He pulled out of her and rolled her onto her back. “We’re going to have a baby?” He stroked her abdomen.

“I took a test this morning. It was positive. I’ve booked an appointment to see the doctor. They can confirm it.”

“Oh, fuck, I can’t wait, baby. You’re going to be the best damn mother in the world.” He gripped the back of her neck, drawing her closer for a kiss.

She kissed him back and moaned. “And you’re going to be one hell of a dad.” She stroked his cheek. “I love you, Alonzo.”

“You’re the best fucking thing to ever happen to me.”

Jessica had told her how scared he was when she’d been taken into surgery. Not a moment had gone by when she didn’t know how much he loved her. He told her every day, showed her more love than she ever thought was possible, and no matter what, he owned her heart.

“Now make love to me, Alonzo. Like you mean it.” She winked at him, and he growled, pressing her against the bed.

“We’re not leaving this bed ever again.”

“I sure hope not.”

The End
