“Shh.” I press a finger to her lips, then give her another quick kiss. “You don’t have to explain anything, baby. I know he was lying, and I know I’m the only one.”
“You do?” she asks. “But how?”
I smile, my heart in my eyes. “Because I trust you and love you, sweetheart. That’s why.”
A answering smile lifts the corner of her mouth. “So you’re not upset that I’m probably pregnant?”
With that, my heart swells and then bursts with joy. I hold my girlfriend tight, and make sure my eyes are locked on hers. “How could I be upset? This is the best gift anyone could ever give me. Knowing that you’re expecting my child makes me happier than I’ve ever been. Don’t you realize that, sweetheart? I can’t wait to start a family with you.”
Jemima’s eyes go so wide that I almost drown in the chocolate pools. “A family?” she stammers. “As in, more than one child?”
I nod.
“I love you, Jemima. God, I love you so much I feel like my heart’s going to explode from how full it is when I’m with you.”
New tears shimmer in her eyes, but this time they’re accompanied by a beautiful smile. “You do?”
“God, yes.” I take her chin between my thumb and finger and tilt her chin up so that our lips are only a breath away. “I love you so much, baby.” I kiss her, slow and deliberate, pouring every ounce of the adoration I feel for her into our kiss. Pulling back slightly, I can feel her smile against my mouth now. “Move in with me,” I say persuasively. “You are my life and I want us to start living it here, together, as a family.”
Jemima throws her arms around my neck and starts peppering me with kisses, her heart full and her eyes filled with adoration. “I love you, too, Bruce, and I can’t wait to have this baby with you. I love our family already, however many children we may have.”
I smile brightly and kiss her hard, intent on turning our interaction steamy, but then Jemima pulls back, her breathing shallow. “But first, we can start by taking the pregnancy test,” she giggles. “After all, I want a picture of the positive test to start a baby scrapbook. Wouldn’t that be cute?”
I pull her close and devour her mouth, smiling against her plush lips. “You can have anything you want, sweetheart. I’m at your service.”
“Good, because I want you too, Bruce Wilshire.”
“You’ve got me. Always, honey.”
And with that, the playboy was tamed. After all, I started out as a manwhore, letting any and all women use my body for their pleasure. But in the end, a very special curvy girl had a very particular demand, and little did I know, but her needs would come to satisfy mine. Who would have guessed? Jemima James came to me with a request to be her partner in crime, but in the end, it was I who fell in love with the curvy girl.

Six months later.
“Girl, you are absolutely glowing,” Mimi gushes, putting her tea cup down on the tray.
I smile and look down at my swollen belly, rubbing my tummy as the baby flutters inside. “I can’t believe I’m only seven months in! It feels like I’m going to pop already.”
“Well, pregnancy looks good on you,” Mimi declares. “Besides, the baby is doing wonders for your skin! And I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile so much.” She smiles mischievously. “But I imagine a lot of the credit for that goes to Bruce too. Tell me, how good is he in bed? You know he’s legendary around the Wilshire.”
I swat her knee and we both burst out laughing. “He makes me very happy, and that’s all you’re getting from me.”
“Fine,” she says dramatically. “What’s a girl to do when she can’t even live vicariously through her best friend?”
I laugh.
“You are crazy. You’re gorgeous and I know there are plenty of men who would love to show you a good time.”
She winks. “Well, as true as that may be, none of them are quite up to the level of Bruce Wilshire. Come on, honey, you have to admit it. Your guy is tall, handsome, rich, kind, and he can’t wait to be a dad.”
I grin, beaming at her. “Yeah. He’s pretty great.”
Mimi sighs. “But I can’t believe today was your last day! I’m going to miss working with you, girlfriend, even if our paths didn’t cross that often. Make sure you don’t forget about me after your baby’s born.”
I roll my eyes at her. “It’s just maternity leave, girlfriend! Women take time off all the time. I’ll be back once the baby’s old enough.”
Mimi smiles.
“Honey, once that baby gets here, you’re going to be so in love you will never want to leave him or her. Especially not for some receptionist job, even if it is at the Wilshire.”
