I ditched my clothes, leaving them in a pile as I walked over to the gold-plated shower and started it up. I stepped under the steamy spray and closed the shiny, glass door. I sucked in a breath of air and closed my eyes, relishing the sensation of the heated shower falling all over me. After a refreshing shower, I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around me. I reached for my boxer shorts that were on the back of the toilet, and my towel dropped to the floor as the door flung open.

“Jeb!” Her mouth hung midair when she saw me…all of me.

I followed the trail of her e

yes to my manhood and quickly pulled up my boxers.

“Tameka, hey…” I smiled. It was inevitable for us to have a run-in, but I didn’t expect it to be this soon or to happen while I was naked.

“Hey—What are you doing here?” she asked. Her eyes dropped to my boxers once again. “Nobody told me you would be here.”

“Surprise?”

“Kemara? Channing? Where are you?” she screamed as she made a beeline for the stairs yelling her sister’s name. “Kemara!?”

Chapter 11

Tameka

I was so annoyed. No, I was pissed. My sister and brother in law were in on this. They were all laughing behind my back. Of all the people to invite here, Jeb was the worst choice.

“Kemara? Channing?” I yelled out. I wasn’t able to get down the stairs fast enough. “Kemara! Where are you guys?” I rounded the corner heading to the kitchen.

Kemara and Channing were sitting at the table talking in hushed tones. My sister looked up at me with a smirk on her face.

“Are you serious? Jeb is here?” I asked her. “How dare you double-cross me…and with a smile on your face?”

Channing looked at me but remained quiet.

“It’s only a week, Tameka,” Kemara said softly.

I took a deep breath in attempt to control my raging temper. “Just a week? We’re only going to be here a week, so that’s the entire time we’re here!”

“He promised he wouldn’t bother you,” Kemara replied.

“The least you could have done was told me he was coming. This is not even cool,” I said as I glared at my sister. I honestly couldn’t believe she went along with this.

“If I would have told you he was coming, you would have backed out. Besides, he hadn’t planned to stay in the house with us, so it’s not some conspiracy against you. The man didn’t have anywhere else to stay in Aruba because the hotels were booked,” Kemara reasoned.

“How about this? He could have stayed in Alabama!” I rolled my eyes. “And you didn’t feel the need to tell me once we got on the plane that Jeb…Jeb was going to be sleeping across the hall from me?” I asked, trying to mask the weakened sound of my voice.

“I planned to tell you, but the plane landed,” she said.

“That would’ve been too late, Kemara. I needed a fair warning,” I argued, now stuck with the image of entering the bathroom and finding Jeb half-naked. I could still feel my face flushing at the mere sight of him.

“It won’t be a bad thing, though. If you get a chance to know him, you’ll see that he’s a good guy,” Channing interjected.

“With all due respect, Channing, I can’t fathom what a few days would do to change my mind.”

I turned around to storm out of the kitchen, but Jeb was standing in the doorway. His five-o-clock shadow said ‘hello’ before words could leave his mouth. His square chin and dark brows screamed to be kissed along with everything in between. I looked away from him. It was hard to hide my attraction while looking at him.

“This place is big enough for us to share one week together,” he said, but I didn’t want to hear logic. I wanted him gone. Why? Because I didn’t have the strength to resist him.

“No, it’s not. I’ll just take the next flight home,” I said.

“No, that’s not necessary. If anyone leaves, it’s only right that it’s me.” Jeb turned to walk away, and I didn’t do anything to stop him.

I shrugged and asked, “If he wants to leave, why should I stop him?”
