“Nope, but I heard we’re now owners of a goat.” I tickle Emmylou, causing her to laugh, before placing her on the ground.
“Well, you know how it goes. We just bring them all in. Though this will probably be it for a while. I’m afraid we’ll need to have a petting zoo if we add another one.” My woman, she’s so full of shit. I give it another six months until another animal will wander into our home. Never mind the teacup pig that was supposed to stay as small as a football. Piglet ended up growing to be over one hundred pounds. Needless to say, she’s out in the pasture with the cows and Dominic, the donkey.
“We’ll see about that. Is Emmylou staying with you tonight, Mom?” I ask, walking towards her, planting a kiss on her cheek, then going to Reese.
“Oh yes, Daddy. We’re going to watch movies, paint our nails, and eat all kinds of junk food.” One thing about it, when these women get together, they conjure up all kinds of things. Though, I’m not going to complain about tonight, an evening to ourselves, one where I can make my woman come over and over again.
“How ya doin’, sunshine?” My hand touches her swollen belly, our boy kicking me as I do so.
“I’d be better if you’d kiss me already,” she smarts back with a smile on her face.
“Is that so?” I swoop down, taking her lips with mine. My tongue sneaks out, tangling with hers, savoring her flavor, and in the background, we hear Emmylou say, “Ewwww, Momma and Daddy are gross. Maw-maw, can we leave?” God, this life is fucking amazing. Something tells me it’s only going to get better.
