“Damon!” Carla shouted, jumping out of Lucians arms. “I told you this was a bad idea.”

“I’m…” I swallowed and pinched my legs together trying not to make the pain I was in too obvious, “fine.” I lied. “But maybe we’ve had enough for one day.” I tried to keep my voice even.

It was time to admit defeat. Carla was never going to learn to dance. Her body was obviously not designed for it. Right then, I couldn’t think of anything but getting some ice on my man parts. I would think about my wounded pride and deflated ego of thinking I could turn anyone into a dancer later.

I had to excuse myself for an hour and go to my room to sit in a cool bath with an ice pack placed in a strategic place. Garry had brought me some pain killers when he’d dropped off the ice pack. If I didn’t know better, I could’ve sworn I saw his eyes filled with mirth.

The pain killers were starting to kick in. Just the word kick made me shudder. I was not going to be able to use that word for a while. I couldn’t wallow in the bath for too long as we were going parasailing.

It was time to get out of the bath and get dressed. Luckily, I had some loose shorts as there was no way I could wear any tight pants at the moment. I was dreading having to be strapped into the harness. I just knew it was going to be painful.

The tablets Garry had given me were making me feel really great. I felt relaxed and I was not so sore where a man should never be sore. I sighed as I dried myself and got dressed. A few more days and this would all be over. Something twanged in my chest and made me feel a little sad about this week ending. I smiled as I remembered the disastrous dance lessons with Carla. She could have been any cuter if she tried.

There was a knock at my door as I pulled my cotton shirt on. I walked to the door while I buttoned it up and pulled it open to reveal Drew.

“You ready?” Drew asked and looked at my crotch while trying not to smile. “How’re you feeling, buddy?”

“Are you talking to me or my crotch?” I asked him. “Because I’m feeling rather uncomfortable right now with the way you’re looking at me.”

“Sorry,” Drew grinned. “I was just trying to imagine the kind of pain you must be in.”

“Thanks,” I said sarcastically. “Let me just get my wallet, phone, and key card.”

“I’m looking forward to this,” Drew rubbed his hands together in excitement. “When we get back, you can continue doing whatever it was you were doing.”

“I was icing my bits,” I said. “We have karaoke planned tonight.” I grinned. “You know how much I love karaoke.”

“Cool,” Drew led the way. “Let’s go fly.”

“Let’s go fly,” I grinned, ignoring the burn as my pants set out to torture me.

I could hardly walk by the time we’d finished parasailing. I was in such pain that all I could think of was crashing on my bed with a pack of ice and two more of those painkillers. In fact, that’s what I was going to do for an hour and grab dinner in my room before going down to karaoke.

I ran a cold water bath and climbed in. It took my breath away at first but it numbed and soothed my bruised parts. I sighed and let myself relax for a few minutes, letting the painkillers and water soothe me. My feet also ached from being stomped on for three hours. I closed my eyes. It had been a long time since I’d felt Carla’s soft body against mine. The last time was during our final days of college. Drew, Hayley, Carla, and myself had all gone to the same college.

Although Carla and I moved in the same circles, we never really spoke to each other. If we did, it was reluctantly or sarcastically. Our parents were business rivals with some age-old feud going on, so that kind of rubbed off on the two of us. We competed with each other wherever we could at school. Science projects, student body president, debates, and so on. It was even worse at college, especially as we were studying the same things.

Then there was bonfire night two weeks before graduation. She’d been seeing this guy who was some tech genius. He was also a big-headed prick who thought everyone was beneath him. They’d broken up two weeks before the bonfire. But douchebag techie wasn’t taking the breakup too well and had caused a scene at the bonfire. I stepped in and the douchebag left and I spent the rest of the evening sitting with Carla and trying to get her mind off the idiot.
