So I'm not sure what to think of Alice. I do know that after a week of being closed into this small pod with her I can't decide if I want to kiss her again or throttle her. She picks apart everything I do. She complains, as if I can change our situation. And she frets over her friends and acts as if I'm her personal jailer, somehow keeping her apart from the others.

Being confined with her is tricky, too, because her scent is all over the small cabin of the escape pod. She smells sweet and enticing, and we've brushed up against each other a half-dozen times a day, moving about. My cock gets hard just thinking about her, and yet there's nowhere for me to go to jerk it. There's no privacy at all, unless you decide to spend an extra-long time in the lavatory.

It's been a long keffing week and we haven't seen a single ship, which doesn't bode well.

Alice seems to be just now realizing our situation. She sits up in her bunk, giving me a worried look. "We only have enough tabs for three weeks? What happens if a rescue takes longer?"

I set my boots down next to me on my bunk and sprawl my legs out, stretching them. It means my feet hit the edge of her bunk and she glares, nudging at my feet before casting another look at me. "What happens?" I echo. I pat my pocket, where the vial of inukni eggs sits. "We either starve or we worm up."

Her lips curl back in horror. "But you don't think it'll be that long, right? You think we'll get rescued before then?"

I shrug. "Your guess is as good as mine."

"I won't think about that," Alice says, her voice firm. "We'll just have to come up with a distraction of some kind."

"A distraction, huh?"

"Yes." She thinks for a minute and then looks over at me. "If you've got any ideas, now's the time. I'm drawing a blank."

A thought immediately sears into my mind. No male in his right mind would suggest such a thing, but my adrenaline pumps at the thought of lobbing my suggestion to her and her reaction. Mathiras would kill me…but he's not here. "Well, I've got one idea, but you won't like it."

"Does it involve the worms?"

I give her a wry grin. "No."

"Then I'll like it."

I smirk at her, setting my feet on the floor. "I've always found that a good, rough round of mating takes my mind off things."

Alice sits bolt upright. Her pink mouth forms an O of surprise. "Are you suggesting we have sex? To alleviate boredom?"

"You got a better idea?"

ALICE

I stare at him like he's crazy. Heck, maybe he is. Maybe our confined space has finally gotten to him and once he stops polishing his boots, he's going to start polishing my forehead or something. "Are you insane?"

Kaspar only gives me a lazy stare full of promise. "Why is it an insane suggestion?"

I sputter. "Because it is!"

He studies me with those hooded eyes, and I am suddenly exceedingly aware of how small this escape pod is, and how much of it Kaspar takes up with his sheer size. Out of the three brothers, he's not the tallest—that was Mathiras. He's not the most muscled—Adiron seemed to be the biggest one. But there's a dangerous glint in Kaspar's eyes that warns me not to underestimate him. He's still tall and alarmingly big. I'm small for an adult human female—one reason I think I got snatched—and I probably only come up to his pectorals. Even now, he sits across from me and his big shoulders take up far too much room, as if the pod can barely contain him.

"Are you new to mating?" Kaspar asks. "Would this be your first time?"

"You know I'm not. You know exactly what humans are used for. Don't even play." I cross my arms over my chest.

He shrugs, one corner of his mouth pulling up with amusement. "So why all the outrage, then? Why the panic? You know how this sort of thing works."

"I'm not panicking," I mutter. "And just because I'm not slobbering all over you at the suggestion it doesn't mean that I'm afraid. It could be that I'm just not interested, thank you very much."

"Why not?"

"I've had enough bad alien sex to last me a lifetime, thanks."

His smile broadens. "It wouldn't be bad sex."

I roll my eyes at him again. "You don't get to make that call. I do."

Kaspar leans forward, elbows on his knees, and studies me. It puts him far too close to my “side” of the pod and I'm tempted to plant my foot in his face and shove…except he might like that too much. "We have nothing but time on our hands, little one—"

"I'm going to stop you right there," I interrupt. "If you call me 'little one' again, you will absolutely be eating that nice, shiny boot."
