“Don’t bet on it.” She rolled her eyes and walked towards the kitchen.

Charlotte appeared at the top of the stairs and she took my breath away the instant I saw her. She wore a gorgeous form fitting red dress that highlighted every curve. I felt underdressed even though I was wearing a suit. She started walking down the stairs and my heart got a little faster in my chest. It had been a long time since I had felt anything like that. I no longer had any concerns about asking out a former student. She was exactly what I needed to bring me out of the dark abyss my life had become.

“You look gorgeous.” I held out the bouquet. “These are for you.”

“And I’ve got something to put them in.” Veronica walked back to the staircase with the vase in her hand.

“You seem to be very interested in getting us out of here.” Charlotte took the flowers, smelled them, and then put them in the vase. “You don’t have anything planned that will make me regret leaving you alone, right?”

“No.” Veronica shook her head quickly. “I’m an angel.”

Somehow I doubt that is true.

“You better not be lying to me.” Charlotte glared at her little sister.

I took Charlotte’s hand as Veronica walked towards the kitchen. I saw the evil intentions in Veronica’s eyes. Charlotte seemed to pause for a moment as she stared at Veronica until she was out of sight, but then turned her attention back to me. We walked outside, I opened the car door for her, and then we were on the way to the restaurant. I had a lot of trouble not looking over at her as I drove. The dress might have covered her breasts, but there was little left to the imagination. They were so perfect that I was distracted from the road for a moment.

“See something you like?” She smiled and looked over at me.

“You’ll have to forgive me for staring, you are unbelievably beautiful.” I let out a sigh and turned my attention back to the road.

“I’m not complaining.” She reached over and put her hand on my knee. “It took you long enough to notice me.”

“You were a plagiarist and a student.” I looked down at her hand for a second and then looked back towards the road.

“You didn’t like bad girls?” She slid her hand towards my inner thigh.

“Maybe you were cute, but I didn’t want to be dragged out of the school in handcuffs.” I gripped the steering wheel when her hand got close to my cock.

“Handcuffs could be fun.” She giggled and pulled her hand away.

My head was spinning by the time we got to the restaurant. She was completely intoxicating. She had me buzzing more than the whiskey I had the night before.

I opened the passenger door and helped her out. She pushed her hand into the crook of my arm and we walked into the restaurant, where I had a table reserved in the back corner. It was fairly private, even though the restaurant was packed. The meal would cost a fortune on a teacher’s salary, but Charlotte was worth it. We sat down and I picked up the menu, blinking as I realized exactly how expensive everything was.

Chapter 3: Charlotte

I was feeling out of my element because I had reached the apex of my experience with guys. I had a reputation in high school, mostly due to stories I fabricated, but none of it was true. The sad reality was that I had never actually had sex with anyone. I was still a virgin. It was easy to pretend in high school and once the reputation was out there, it didn’t require much effort to cultivate the stories. Guys hit on me and while some of them got a date, they weren’t going to admit to their friends that they didn’t get past first base with the school slut.

“So, am I allowed to order anything?” My eyes practically bulged out of my head when I saw how expensive everything on the menu was.

“You can pick whatever you want.” Gavin nodded as he looked up at me, and then his eyes went back to the menu.

“Do you like wine? I don’t really know which one is best…” The names were Frech to me, and I spent more time in detention than French class, but I liked what I had tried previously.

“Do you want a red wine or a white wine?” He tilted his head as he read through the names.

“Red?” I shrugged and put the menu down. “Does that go with pasta?”

“I think so.” He chuckled and put his menu down as well. “I prefer whiskey.”

“Whiskey?” I raised my eyebrows in surprise. “I figured you stuck with water.”

“There might be a few things you don’t know about me.” He winked and motioned for the waiter to come over.

The waiter gave us some suggestions and Gavin chose one that was fairly expensive, but well recommended. An hour later, we were halfway through our meal and the bottle had taken a respectable dent. I wasn’t totally buzzing, but I was feeling it. Gavin seemed to lighten up after a couple of glasses, and I was giggling at everything he said. He was a lot more interesting than I realized. There seemed to be more to him than the incredible physique and stone colored eyes that could melt your feet to the floor.

“How is it that someone didn’t scoop you up the second the ink was dry on your divorce papers?” I reached for my glass and lifted it to my lips.
