“You can call me Laney,” I mumble as I slide into one of the comfortable velvet chairs that sits in front of his desk. I cross and uncross my legs. I fold my hands in my lap, then smooth down my skirt, then fold my hands again.

I sneak a quick peek at James’ face, but he looks amused. Really? He thinks this is funny, making me wait on him? My stomach drops. He’s not going to help me. I close my eyes and my heart fills with dread. When Sandra assured me that there were other ways to pay for James’ services, I thought she meant I’d be servicing him. I could live with that. I just didn’t think that maybe I wouldn’t be pretty enough for him.

When James speaks again, it’s not to kick me out of his office. In fact, he stares at me for a few moments and seems to be deciding something. Then he gives me his full attention.

“Please, Laney, tell me more about your brother.”

“Right.” I take a deep breath. “He was arrested for selling weed.”

“And why should I help a drug dealer?” James’ face remains blank. He doesn’t even shrug. He just asks me why he should care.

This is it.

This is my moment of truth.

“He’s innocent,” I state, prepared to plead my case with him. “The cop said he-“

James holds up a hand, stopping me.

“I didn’t ask why you feel that your brother is innocent, Laney. I asked why I should help.”

I open my mouth, prepared to give more information about my brother, but I realize that’s not going to help me right now. I have to think quickly. James is obviously a very well-paid lawyer. Although he doesn’t have a secretary (did he just not replace Sandra after she quit?), his office is impressively decorated. His suit is incredible. His shoes must have cost at least a grand.

And I have nothing to offer him but myself.

“I can’t pay you,” I say. “I don’t have any money.” James raises his eyebrows, but remains quiet. He leans back in his chair, watching me.

“But,” I say, finally finding my nerve, finally reminding myself what this is for, “I can provide other services to you…of value.”

“What kind of services?” Is that a flicker of excitement I see in his eyes? A flicker of lust? A flicker of hope? I don’t know, but I’ll take it, whatever it is.

I lean forward in my seat, revealing my cleavage, drawing his eyes where I want them. As he soaks up my tits, his eyes slowly glide back up to mine.

“The kind of services a man like you deserves,” I say simply. Standing up, I slowly start to unbutton the front of my blouse, revealing my bra. My fingers tremble with each button, showing more and more skin until my shirt falls to the floor. My skirt follows close behind.

I’m standing in front of James Peak, the sexiest attorney of the year, in my red bra and matching panties.

He licks his lips.
